It’s funny how everyone is against using AI for students to get summaries of texts, pdfs etc which I totally get.

But during my time through medschool, I never got my exam paper back (ever!) so the exam was a test where I needed to prove that I have enough knowledge but the exam is also allowed to show me my weaknesses are so I would work on them but no, we never get out papers back. And this extends beyond medschool, exams like the USMLE are long and tiring at the end of the day we just want a pass, another hurdle to jump on.

We criticize students a lot (righfully so) but we don’t criticize the system where students only study becase there is an exam, not because they are particularly interested in the topic at given hand.

A lot of topics that I found interesting in medicine were dropped off because I had to sit for other examinations.

Both are supportive of oppression of the global south, have a direct hand in a genocide happening as we speak. Both support the terrorists of Israel. Both are detaining immigrants. Both are stealing kids from immigrant families. Both have systemic racism issues.

North americans are delusional that “we have it better” here in ‘Europe’.

ITT: North Americans complaining about 300 executions while North America killed 40,000 Palestenians, half of which is children, in the last year.

I mean seeing what Arab female singers wore to the Billboard Arabia Music Awards in Riyadh tonight and inviting someone like Magy Bughosun and Fouzia who supports women rights but then pulling up stuff like this is wild.

I guess it‘s okay if the opinion is Lebanese Arab or Moroccan Amazigh but they draw the line on Saudi Arab?

Also, a lot of saudi women are speaking up in Saudi Arabia and wearing revealing clothes.

I think this one specifically said „I don‘t like MBS version of feminism“ and was slapped in prison.

Knesset has 0 power in this state. This state is a settler colonial authoritarian terrorist state that has zero democracy. The terrorist state of Israel has none of the pillars of democracy.

Their presidents and people of power all have Ashkenazi roots

I used to use MyFitnessPal but its pop up ads are particularly annoying and paying $20 for an ad free version doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Jordan upset South Korea 2-0 in their Asian Cup semi-final on Tuesday at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium where Yazan Al-Naimat and Musa Al-Taamari scored second-half goals to guide them into the final for the first time.

I use Memmy daily and I was checking if Memmy is still under development. Unfortunately I couldn’t find the respective community. The app is well-designed that I doubt it was never updated since month.

I also want to support the developer(s). :)

Hello Artists of Lemmy.

I am not sure if this is allowed here but I found nowhere else to post it in Lemmy. I didn't find anything in the side bar against text posts. If this is inappropriate then tell me to delete it.

I just created a new community on lemmy.world about the Middle East and I want to a design a banner for it. Unfortunately, I am not artist. I am not asking for free art for myself, rather art that would make my community looks better. If anyone is willing to volunteer to create a banner for this community, I will be very grateful.

Credits will be given in the subreddit side bar.

Here is the community link
