Sorry, I hate Sensodyne. I've tried three types and gave up. Not only it doesn't make my teeth less sensitive at all, it also irritates my gums to the point of bleeding. Switching to any other toothpaste takes me back to status quo.

My favorite used to be Colgate Total 12 but they've altered the formula and it's now just Total, no 12, and this already caused me problems. So at the moment I'm looking for a good toothpaste.

I never heard of this artist or album before, so far I'm 1/4 through the listening and digging it, thanks for posting

That's a good unicorn. I think Daft Punk also had Human After All as another unicorn type, very industrial, very unique, often overlooked.

It's not an amazing meme and I'm not sure I agree with it, but in my understanding it is trying to say that we, Lemmy users, are experienced and not naive unlike Reddit users.

You are probably right though

This doesn't work... It's like saying there is a fine line between strength and opening pickle jars

I just want a free minimalist app on my phone that lets me enter a date on one column, and a bunch of other values in other columns. I don't even need it to perform math, but I won't mind if it does. Bonus points if I can export the data, but not a deal breaker. I don't need any sync.

I could be using Google Sheets but fuck Google and also I want to keep my data local and private on my phone.

Thanks

I guess some animals would consider it a simulation snack though

Article is a couple months old but I was unaware of tarpits in existence against AI.

I've been searching for a VFX/3D art job for a very long time. Most positions don't mention Linux as a requirement and when they do, it's just a familiarity or basic competency implied.

Lately I've been seeing a few that require * proficiency*. There is nothing else in the job description that would lead me to think the position requires coding/programming skills. Of course one would be troubleshooting proprietary software issues on linux, but in my understanding that would be relying more on proficiency in said software than in the OS.

I might be wrong though.

I've used Linux before but I wouldn't call myself "proficient". What would that be, in your opinion, and could you recommend any resources (perhaps tutorials) in particular?

TIA

Other than it's sold in much smaller bottles that is. Is it chemically different? I'm not talking about the primers, I'm talking about the color paints.

In the same vein, are oil paints for miniatures different from classic oil paints? I find it hard to believe one would be using the same type of paint. Oils (as those sold for canvas painting) take ages to dry, especially if on plastic. They mix up too easily and I would predict a mess if you had to paint something that needs a lot of handling, such as a miniature.

Most miniature painting guides online focus on techniques but gloss over materials specifications. As someone with a fair amount of experience in traditional painting, I find this frustrating.

As the title says. I've been listening to some synth, some alternative rock, some electronica. But I find a lot of the music I usually listen to doesn't sound that great in my car. And I also find I'm more open to different music genres while driving.

I'm curious to know what you're into, if you want to share artists then the more the better.

Same wifi network. On my laptop I can access the website, no issues without VPN. On my phone, there's just no way unless I activate my VPN.

I tried searching about it but the closest results I found say it's an ISP issue, some apparently block the Archive. If that was the case then I'd need VPN for both devices, right? So it's got to be another reason, yes?

I didn't find anyone saying they experience the same as I am, I suppose because I suck at searching I guess.

Since they don't technically fry... Or do they? They're basically mini electric ovens. What's the difference between an air fryer and an electric oven, other than size and energy consumption?

Disclaimer: I'm not American, I don't live in the US

JD Vance didn't exist in my life before he became vice president. Now, I am aware that I also don't know anything about most vicepresidents in the world. But I've seen a lot of people who are also USA outsiders making comments about him as if implying something else, as if relying on facts everyone ought to know. I get the feeling most people have already heard about him from before and I'm late to the party.

So, what do I need to know, other than his political affiliations? Yes, we all know who the president is and that says a lot, but, is Vance notorious for anything else?

I needed to vent about this somewhere, thanks

I prefer YouTube as the platform but I'm also open to suggestions elsewhere.

Basically I'm looking for long-ish format episodes I can listen to while doing something else. Ideally the host isn't just a voice reading a text, but someone relatable or that shows enthusiasm and/or has a personal take/ humor about the topic they're talking about.

I sometimes listen to Simon Whistler's videos on a variety of topics, in case you know him, I find he's entertaining enough and his writers are usually good but I'm looking for some more variety.

I've tried Stuff You Should Know and the Oologies series and while the content seems well researched, I found them a bit boring for me.

Got any recommendations?
