Today's game is some more of the oblivion remaster. I did some more of the Mage's guild quest today and the specific quest took me a to a ruin. I have very vivid memories of this specific dungeon because of the puzzle from a few years ago when i did a brief playthrough with a friend. It was very tedious having to open the inventory and find the book again. Luckily i found out i could quick bind a book which made this a lot faster. It did take me a while though to realize i had to cast a spell on the Central Pillar and not the crystals. And i did it all for a Elven Helmet that the mage's guild wants for some reason. Not even a Magic one. Just a plain old Helmet.

I'm not usually a fan of these ruins, or dungeons in general. But damn does the remaster makes these dungeons look pretty. The blue light beams and shadows are a gorgeous effect.

There was also a quest before this which had me meant the count of the area. Dude came outside to meet me and he's a vampire, and i have to say i'm a big fan of the Vampire designs in the Remake. He has a very corpse like design which i like. His lips and mouth being blue are my favorite part. I've heard on players it sadly just makes their face look lethargic which is a little disappointing but it is cool to see the NPCs get a cool design. I accidentally left the poor guy idle in conversation while i answered a call for a bit. He was probably worried the sun was going to rise before we finished talking.

The count's castle had this painting up of an painting in the old oblivion style which i think is kind of neat. I stopped to look at it for a bit. I can't figure out who it's supposed to be but I like to imagine that old Oblivion is a stylized art style in the remaster's world. It's a fun thought. Maybe if the game existed it'd be kind of like that movie about Vincent van Gogh called Loving Vincent?

I think so, yeah. I'm not playing the latest version so i can't say for sure but I know PS3 edition goes up that high though so i'd have to assume 360 does too

Not even for aesthetics lol. It was just out of habit from being younger and playing minecraft

Today's game was Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition. I went ahead and built a farm for my Jungle Tree House. We have Potatoes and Wheat growing. I went and ransacked the local village looking for Carrots but they didn't have any sadly. I'll have to look around for some to complete my farm. I also need Melons and Pumpkins. Both of which should be a little easier to get. Carrots i think Zombies can drop and Dungeons.

On my way back from the village there was a ravine i found. There was a cow and sheep standing on the edge which i pushed in to gather drops (and save durability) and going down i found a good 12 pieces of iron (I used it to make a second bucket and an iron hoe for my farm to make life easier)

I also made plans to explore a cave right outside my house, but the moment i stepped foot in there a skeleton fired an arrow and i backed out. I thought it would be pretty safe because it's surface level but i guess not. I'll have to make some armor and torches and head into the cave to light it up so this doesn't bite me in the ass later. Because i totally could see it doing so.

I ended up winding down for the evening by redecorating the treehouse. I rearranged the vines a little bit because they were starting to overgrow. I left one streak just covering the front of the window specifically though. It was a relaxing way to relax for the evening. Just redecorate the house. Honestly old minecraft is just a relaxing way to chill. Modern Minecraft has a little to much going on where i feel like there are now constant threats. It's not a bad thing, it just changes the context i play in. Being able to kick back and say "Okay, i have 10 minutes to do the creative stuff, then i can sleep or do the combat if i want too" is really chill.

I just upgraded the waterfront shack and stick with that for my only house. I decided to embrace being broke and roleplay it lol

It's weird because i feel like it looks like a flip, but it's all decently well put together. I had one friend say it reminds them a bit of Goat Simulator, but i'm not sure exactly how they meant that

We bought some lights for the ceilings later to make it brighter because one of my friends was saying the same thing lol. There's a toggle for reduced lights that's on by default in settings, but i didn't mess with that so maybe that will help too

saw Super Mario 64 and immediately saved it lol

Today's game is Super Market Together. I found it randomly on the Steam Store, saw it was multiplayer, and it was free so i figured "eh, why not blow an evening with a friend running a grocery store". We intially called our store TwoBros, but we had a third friend join us so we were due for a rebrand:

And we became ThreeBros instead. Around this time we all agreed the sign kind of looks like the Logo to a Men's Strip Club. We're hoping that brings in customers.

We also hired a guy we named Danny to run the register for us. Danny legit saves us so much time, so to show our appreciation (and since i can't pay him more) we bought him a frog painting and a Potted Plant (along with a TV for the Break Room).

I decided for our inventory that we should appeal to a broad market. And you know what the Broadest market is? Everyone. And you know what Everyone drinks? Water. So i bought a shit ton of water and stocked a few shelves with it. The Shelf above is only 1/4 of the Water we have, and we have more in the back. Sadly my water plan isn't working, and people seem more interested in Soda and Tea. I spent $500 on Water Alone. If anything though i can rest assured that no one will be going thirsty.

Towards the end of our 6th day in business we had a shoplifter stealing a 12 pack of soda so i grabbed a broom and hit the guy into the street (granted i do this to everyone). If it was water i could understand, we've got so much anyways. But that Soda is expensive as hell and isn't a basic human right. He was fine and walked it off, then went inside and started bitching that we didn't have Black Tea, only Lemon Tea.

Our store also has a cat outside the break room. I want to move it inside but can't figure how (or if i even can) move it. Our Break Room also has a Prison Cell with only a sink for some reason. I don't know what kind of Kinky Stuff my Employees (both Danny and my Two Friends) are getting up too, but as long as it's all clean and everyone is safe then i don't want to know. We bought them a Table for their Break Room too and want to get them a Fridge.

Would Ship of Harkinian go on here?

[–] MyNameIsAtticus@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

The No AFK role part is one of my favorite parts about it. It means a party of 3 isn't broken down into 2, which can be sometimes annoying. I think the closest i've seen is usually one of our players will head back to the truck early and wait if they have a Map Player count so they can watch to see if anybody dies and run out to grab them (or leave if the risk is to high)

[–] MyNameIsAtticus@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Frostcrag spire is that DLC player house in the mountains, right? I went by there because i remembered it having a Spell Station i was hoping to get to circumvent the price for spell making. But i guess spells just cost cash to make in lore or something.

On the Bruma Quest on the original i did something similar and walked around for a good hour looking for him without realizing i had to talk to NPCs

[–] MyNameIsAtticus@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

The horse is a pain to move (in a fun way). I was just moving one a few hours ago while playing with friends and it was still a pain with 4 strength upgrades. To make matters worse we had a robe right up our ass and everyone else was dead. I ended up getting it to the extraction point but died to the extractor when i tried to adjust the horse further in after realizing it would get crushed

Today's game is Oblivion remastered. I went ahead and cleared any excess saves i wasn't using and have started overwriting saves instead of making new ones in an attempt to mitigate the crashes. It seems to have helped, but i can't say for sure. I went ahead and did some more of the Mages Guild questline and got accepted. Bruma was the very last one i did.

I have to say i feel like these quests range from mundane household chore to playing cop for the Mages Guild. The Bruma one had me go locate a missing person, which turned out to be some guys just pranking the Guild Master.

One of the guys looks kind of like an uncle i had to the point the resemblance is kind of uncanny. I think it's the Mustache and the Hair. From what i understand he dies at the end of the Mage's guild questline though which kind of sucks.

There was another quest where i had to recover a tome for either this lady or the mages guild. I chose the mages guild because i trust them over this random lady to handle a magic spell book. On my way back she was chilling in front of the mages guild waiting for me. I snuck around from the back but there was an awkward few seconds were we made eye contact while i was entering the Mage's guild. I went up and talked to her after and she got a little offended when i told her i won't steal the book back for her.

The Mage's guild quest has you also steal back a staff stolen from another mage by this guy who likes her. Not to White Knight for this random Oblivion NPC but damn did this guy get on my nerves. Not in a "i'm now in a bad mood" way, but in a "I don't think i like this guy" way. Badgers this person that doesn't like him, Steals her stuff, then when he feels bad about it, instead of saying sorry and giving it back, he just sells it. It's the kind of thing you'd expect a middle schooler to pull, not a grown man.

Another thing, The mages guild that this quest takes place is so weirdly designed. it's the Bravil mage's guild and it's built like 4 stories tall and looks like it could fall over. I actually really like how weirdly vertical it is, but it is funny how unsafe it looks (at least to me). I once watched a video of a guy going through a Counter Strike Map and comparing it to the OSHA handbook, would love to see something similar for this game now that i think about it, probably would take forever though.

The last thing i did was stop by the Arcane University and construct my staff. I did a staff of Speechcraft because i am in no way a magic build and it was really the only one i could see myself benefiting from. It is really cool that they let you build your own staff though, even if it's limited. I do wish it was as indepth as the spell crafting though. Would be sick to be able to make a staff with that much freedom.

Wasn't there also a guy who only did sports games that could do it too or am i misremembering?

[–] MyNameIsAtticus@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago (3 children)

Oh yeah, definitely keeping the version in mind lol. I never actually noticed the doors until you pointed it out. It really doesn't have any doors. The closest thing is the vents i think

Today's game is R.E.P.O. This game has probably become the go to multiplayer game for my group there's no plot to follow so we don't have to worry about everyone attending and most of my friends have a copy. Not to mention the rounds are quick so we can pop in for 1 or 2 and pop out. I chose the main screenshot because of the way we stacked all the stuff. It's a damn nice stacking job if i do say so myself.

The game got a newer update, so along with a bunch of cool new shit there's been some reworks too. The latest has been that you can only hold enemies for so long. I think they also reworked the pathfinding AI a little bit. Before i could block a hallway with a door like above and they would turn from the door i feel like. Now they just go straight through it. I lost a major strategy there, but at least i can still use it to slow enemies down. I've started using it too make makeshift alarms because most enemies will attack the door. The only one i don't think will is the Huntsman. I haven't seen him walk into it though so maybe he doesn't ignore it.

One thing this game needs is just a straight up battle mode. Me and my friends spend too long in the Shop dicking around and killing eachother (which is what we're doing in the screenshot above). The game already has a battle mode for if everyone dies, so the code is mostly there i imagine. Now that i'm thinking about it a few misc. modes wouldn't be such a bad idea. Maybe like a hide and seek one? A grocery store map would be sick too. I've been saying that for a while. Or like a IKEA inspired one.

Our shop fights have turned us also into trappers as we've started setting traps for each other all over the place. My personal favorite is to hide it behind a door to the bathroom because people will walk through the door and detonate it. I'll also set one on the truck and when someone comes out and carelessly jumps over it they'll blow up. I had one friend try and set a trap using a wall of carts and then a wall of mines behind it. It nearly ended up getting me when i tried to set it off to get through. But it ended up back firing and killing another friend instead.

I've also started walking up to friends and handing them a grenade i primed and asking them to "hold this". Most of the time they'll realize it's primed and toss it, but one of my friends i handed a grenade and asked him to hold it and he just kept holding it. His reasoning was that he "didn't think it'd blow up if he kept holding it". It in fact did blow up and killed him.

Today is some more oblivion. I don't know what it is but it feels like i went from crashing like maybe once a week, to multiple times a day as time has gone on. Welcome back Fallout New Vegas for the PS3 i guess. I did go ahead and knock out a decent portion of the Mages guild intro though without crashing which is nice. I did about 4 of the recommendation quests before a crash took me out.

The gold road one i spent like ten minutes just walking up and down it because the NPCs just would not show up. I walked past the same guard like 20 times. He must have thought i lost it. Eventually though the lady showed up and i killed her, completing the quest.

During the quest where you save the guy from Zombies, the lady behind the counter's legs were just straight up missing. No clue where they went but i guess she decided she didn't need them.

I don't know if this relates too the slow down and crashes i've been having but i went by the Imperial city to drop off the ring of burden (i decided to keep it as a keepsake) and the trees refused to load for a good few minutes. They eventually loaded in but for a while they were this blocky mess.

While out i also ran into Glarthir. He grew a beard. I don't like it. I normally would do his quest on the spot but i was in the middle of a Mage's Guild quest and wanted to finish it before i crashed, so i held off on doing his quest for now.

Today's game is some more Xbox 360 edition of Minecraft. I left my treehouse unfinished last night and wanted to give it a proper job so i spent like a whole hour working on it. I discovered it was right nearby the Mushroom island which is great. I plan to eventually take a trip over there to get a Mooshroom.

I built this little rooftop patio to chill on. I don't know what i want to place there yet, but it's nice and chill. Maybe i'll do like a rooftop garden or something or try building some lawnchair or something. Really give my house some nice details.

The inside is looking pretty cozy too. I did some windows that go around the whole building. Don't worry about the lighting, i got that taken care of a few minutes later lol.

My doors jut in a little bit which bothers me, but i'm not really sure how to fix it without either blocking the stairs or reducing my floor space by placing blocks inward. I could go from a double door to a single door and place some blocks next to the door, but i feel like that would look a little weird. I think this best option is just to try and ignore it

While the inside looks really nice, the outside... not so much. I need to clean it up and make it look nice because as you can see it looks like i just spat some blocks into a tree and called it a day. I'm thinking maybe some log trims and maybe some support beams too (also probably logs).

I've got some stairs heading further up to the balcony i showed off, which i have as an open door. I don't think many things will be getting up here so it's a nice sight. With the lack of phantoms i believe it's mostly safe though. I guess i'll find out the hard way though if not.

I think the next thing on my agenda for this save is too go get some more iron, and hopefully diamonds if i'm lucky. Then i can pop into the nether and explore around there. I also want to build a wall around the neighboring village to help keep them safe from Zombies. I feel bad leaving them undefended, so i want to help them. Maybe a few iron golems too. And a metric fuck ton of torches.

Oblivion has been giving me issues all day and crashing, so i ended up just going to play Minecraft Xbox 360 edition instead. I found one of the old desert temples that use wool instead of clay. It makes me nostalgic. It made me realize nostalgia is also a hell of a drug lol. When i was younger i'd kill to get the latest updates on console with all the cool new things like horses and guardians. Now here i am going back to the version i started with. It's just ironic to think about is all.

With my luck the Temple was right next too a Village with a blacksmith too, which allowed me to get the iron pick in the screenshot above. Overall a sick setup.

My first night fell and i found a village in some plains nearby. I camped out in this house full of villagers and got surprised by a zombie because i forgot they could break doors on easy in this version. I put a block down in front of the door and we all hunkered down.

I ended up finding a jungle and built a tree house there. I haven't done a good tree house in a long while so i figured why not. If you look closely you'll notice i placed a block on the stairs. That's because for some reason skeletons kept coming up and nearly killing me. It ended up being a waste of time though because a spider got me instead.

Luckily i was able to get my stuff back and even got back with some wool for a bed. I lost all my logs though so i'll need to gather some more to keep working on my treehouse. Right now it's... something alright.

I finished up the Thieves Guild questline today in Oblivion. The final mission took me like a whole extra hour because i left my bow at home, had to turn around and get it, and then got lost under the city trying to find the way back because the quest marker bugged. But i eventually made it! Not before getting sighted by the Chancellor who was getting ready for bed on my way out though.

I did the whole quest in the Dark Brotherhood outfit, but needed the boots of Spring Heel Jack on. The Dark Brotherhood armor covers all the armor slots, so i ended up having to run around half naked to steal the Elder Scroll. On the upside i think it helped my stealth. Not that it ended up mattering much, i came out of the sewers in a weapon shop and was arrested for trespassing. They searched me but didn't take the Elder Scroll. I guess they assumed the Elder Scroll was just mine. Or it was a replica.

During the entire final mission i had Slaughterfish just spawning on land too. It was kind of funny at first, but i started to feel bad for them and ended up putting them down. I remember it being like this in the sections i played of the original too, so it's nice to see it's being faithful to it's roots.

One thing that happened was I ended up being attacked by the King of Miscarcand while doing the quest. I thought it was funny because i did that quest line like a whole 10 hours ago (and like 30 days in game time). This happened straight after i got out of prison too. So this guy took a month to find me, tracked me to a castle prison, and was polite enough to wait for me to finish serving my prison sentence before attacking me. Shame he went down without much of a fight though.

Today is officially day 300! After Minecraft yesterday i went back to Oblivion (seeing as my initial test to see how well Xenia ran on my computer went well). I finally completed the Shivering isles and got to go back home.

One of the first things i did when i got back was go home to my shack on the pier. I forgot about the Adoring Fan that i bought the house for, but i had missed being home so much that i was even happy to see him. I loved the Shivering Isles but i was about ready to go back to the base game lol

I will say i like having to become Sheogorath. Especially meeting this guy. I don't know what it is about him but he was very chill. I'd be down to just hang out with him for a bit.

The sights of the Shivering Isles were pretty too. The night sky was one of the best parts because you could get all these exotic colors. It really made the Shivering Isles feel abstract and outlandish.

After the Shivering Isles though, i went straight to the Thieves guild questline. I got myself probably the first 4 quests just by robbing the Magic store in the Imperial City. Immediately i went to go offload it on my friend Ongar. I made about 500 gold alone.

After clearing first few missions i made it to the first 4 tiers and unlocked my next Doyen, which would be S'Krivva. I have to say that Oblivion features by far my favorite versions of the Khajiit. They range from amazing looking too adorable. It definitely beats out Skyrim's for me personally.

The main screenshot above came from the last mission i did for the night. It's the one where you steal back that Ring for the one lady. I had a whole route planned. But there was just a cluster of NPCs waiting on the other side of the door from midnight until 3 AM that i just couldn't get past. Finally at 4 AM i was able to get in. Only, i was met by a Guard just walking into a door. I ended up locking picking the door from behind him and opening it on him so i could sneak past and grab the ring. Once i had the ring it was pretty easy to get out. I had to sneak past the same guard but that was fairly easy. I do think he saw me at the last minute though. I ended up booking it though and didn't stop until i beat the quest.

Today's game is Minecraft Xbox 360 edition. The soundtrack for the Oblivion remaster has me wanting to play Fable 2 again (they sound really similar, at least in my head), and i have a disk copy of Fable 2, which i was trying to figure out how to dump the files to Emulate with Xenia (so it's all configured for when i want to play later). I first decided to try Xenia with Minecraft Xbox 360 edition, which is how i got here. I wanted to get it to the Titled Update (TU) that i grew up with, but i couldn't remember which one that was. I could have googled it like a normal person, but where's the fun in that? So i instead downloaded a few and would jump ahead until i got there.

I loaded the TU 0 version of the Tutorial world up first, which i hadn't even known existed back then. My copy of Minecraft started on the third or so version of the Tutorial world, so seeing this was a cool surprise. The tutorial worlds are some of my favorite features of the game.

The chests were glitched and empty. The whole thing was honestly a little creepy, like something you're not supposed to see. I was half expecting to see a certain someone's piercing white eyes staring back at me from the fog.

Even better, there's another tutorial world too before i got to the one that i grew up with, this one had a cool house just propped up right after that staircase. I'm honestly really digging the whole mansion vibe, which is odd because i'm not usually a mansion kind of guy.

Finally, about 4 TUs later, i got to the Tutorial World i grew up with. I wanted to make sure everything works and runs well (because i'm totally breaking this out to play again sometime. I love my PS3 edition but it only goes so far back in versions), so i ran around doing the whole tutorial section, and everything performed perfectly. For an experimental emulator i'm amazed at how everything just runs flawlessly. The Xenia time has done an awesome job. At some point i'd like to somehow set it up to have multiple TUs available as different launch options in steam. I have a theory that i can do it with .sh scripts and Steam Rom Manager, but i'll have to try later.

One last thing i tried was the Halo mash up pack. But that went as well as the screenshot above looks. I've played a bit of Halo, and i think i can speak for certainty that this isn't what it looks like. My guess is that i have a newer version of the pack then what my game version is, so i'll have to track down an older version (if one exists). The same for Skyrim's mashup pack.

Today's game is some more Oblivion. I nearly went back to Daggerfall, but i went to that wanting to be a brief break from Oblivion for fun. I wasn't expecting to get hooked on it lol. I ended up having to sit myself down and basically go "No more Daggerfall until you finish Oblivion". I went ahead and did some more of the Shivering Isles questline today. I ended up getting in deep shit with the law after i got caught trespassing trying to get the Duke of Mania to Overdose on a drug so i can steal his blood to replace him. I ran out of the city to wait for it to blow over and got this screenshot of the waterfall.

While i was looking to kill the Duke of Mania, i found him in his garden painting. For someone who's about to die, i'm glad he's found something to do before i kill him and take his place. We all need some hobbies.

The whole ritual has you visiting this church with an altar that has some really pretty showcases of the new lighting. I love how soft it looks. I feel like a lot of modern games try to go for Sharp shadows, so seeing these nice soft shadows is really nice and refreshing. It kind of reminds me of how Uncharted 1's art style was.

I initially took this while i killed the Duchess and took her place. I only went back to see how the Duke's quest was after doing it. The only issue was, when i went back into town (after i ran out of the city to wait), i was arrested and went to jail. Somehow i became over encumbered and i started eating food to clean out my inventory. I accidentally ate the poison apple though and died. I had to load a save way before i planted the drugs on the kings food. Only, Oblivion decided that it was in the mood to crash for a second time. I ended up stopping there because i didn't feel like doing that all over (not to mention i was starting to feel tired).

I plan to try and wrap up the Shivering Isles quest line tomorrow, as i'm starting to miss Cyrodiil. The whole Alice in Wonderland-esque aesthetic of the Shivering Isles is a bit like chocolate for me, i can only have a little bit before i start to feel sick.
