What about retirement? Not continuing to save for retirement during your 20s and 30s is a recipe for absolute disaster for long-term stability. What about saving for a down payment for a house?

“Boomers” don’t like this because it seems incredibly short-sighted.

Umberto Eco’s third tenet of fascism: The cult of action for action’s sake.

“Action being beautiful in itself, it must be taken before, or without, any previous reflection. Thinking is a form of emasculation.”

Hence the desire for SteamOS.

Hate to defend them, but that’s not really an accurate portrayal of what happened in 2024.

Biden should have announced he wasn’t running and allowed the primary process to play out. If he hadn’t, then the DNC should have overridden him. It’s unbelievable that they didn’t anticipate or care that Trump would win again.

We desperately need electoral reform. There’s no issue with moderates existing. The issue is that currently the choice is either moderates or fascists. And the fascists are quite adept at portraying the moderates as authoritarian communists.

That’s OP’s claim.

No it’s not.

OP’s claim is that cults give nicknames. Not that all entities that give nicknames are cults.

But your second statement makes me realize that you likely have an inherent bias that is preventing you from seeing the logic involved.

Of course not. It is your interpretation that having a nickname implies cult membership that is the logical fallacy.

The argument is:

  • If CULT, then NICKNAME
  • i.e. If X, then Y

Your interpretation seems to be:

  • If NICKNAME, then CULT
  • i.e. If Y, then X

Which is the logical fallacy of affirming the consequent.

LOGICAL FALLACY - AFFIRMING THE CONSEQUENT.

If X, then Y does not imply if Y, then X.

Motivation on this one was supposedly anti-population increase and anti-IVF. Doesn’t sound like your typical right-wing terrorist.

What’s with the hair (hair?) being blurry/out of focus on the insect’s head? Looks like the fibers on all the legs are sharp. I can’t really make sense of what is happening there.

Sounds like a happy retirement.

This has got to be in a chintzy tourist town.

Nate Silver, formerly of 538, believes Biden should drop out.

I’ve own a half dozen pairs of Allen Edmonds but am wondering if there’s a similar company (American made and sourced) that are better/more comfortable/better value/ etc.

Haven’t bought a pair of shoes in 5+ years so I suspect the market has changed.
