I've only ever gotten one job after responding to an online job posting. I've been out of college since 2007. I'm not sure this is entirely an AI problem, though it is definitely making it worse.

Newsmax is absolute garbage but I sort of want to see them win this one.

I use Goodreads, but it feels like it's dying if not already dead and am shifting away from it. I use Fable and Openreads almost exclusively now. Fable is nice cuz it gives you a monthly recap and at the end of the year a thing like Spotify does for music. But it doesn't have every book so sometimes I read something and can't say I did. They have a form for submitting a book, but I've never actually had them add it.

So I use Openreads to keep track for myself. It's not remotely as exciting as the social ones, but the fact nearly every book ever is on there is incredibly helpful for keeping track of where I'm at on my reading goals.

I was raised in a conservative Christian environment. It goes back decades. Jerry Falwell and his Moral Majority in the 70s or thereabouts. He was successfully able to reshape conservative Christianity into a branch of the Republican party by making them feel like the only Christian choice was voting red. Over time, they've become merely a shell of what Christianity is supposed to be. I left in the early 2000s when I was in college. They refuse to see how they've been duped. And it's worse now than when I was a part of it.

The spirit of the harvest moon. I couldn't think of his name. Just the image is embedded in my memory.

I'm gonna look this up and watch it. It looks wild.

Are you talking about Max Headroom? My dad and I watched that together. We loved it!

I still have weird dreams of stuff I saw watching Courage. That live action human head guy inhabits my nightmares.

I was about 5 years old, and every Saturday morning I just HAD to watch The California Raisin Show. It was about these raisins who were a singing group and went on adventures. All of the characters were fruits and vegetables.
