I had a crank powered am/fm radio, no bigger or heavier than a pack of cards, that used a pair of wired headphones as the antenna. About a minute of cranking got you about 20 mins of surprisingly decent quality radio. I used to use it all the time for years, until it got water damaged camping one time. No chance of doing that with digital radio (or Bluetooth headphones).

FM > DAB

I would add on that Bazzite is a good alternative to Nobara, if you want a decent fedora atomic system, that should be basically unbreakable and powered by fedora.

They all seem to be either pointlessly obsessed with electoralism despite not even being able to convince their own friends and family to vote for them (like barely double digit total votes), TERFs (on terf island - surely not!), trots, or just so small that it’s just 1 person and their two sock puppet accounts on a Facebook page (also what is with the use of Facebook?!)

In another brilliant policy manoeuvre Kier manages to co-opt more Tory policy by bringing in national service, but in support of Israel, it’s actually compulsory service for British citizens in the IOF.

An amazing day for the Electoralism libs who view politics as a team sport. They get to feel good about their colour tie lifting the trophy for a few days, before the weeks and months pass and they notice that fundamentally nothing has changed.

Well who am I kidding, they won’t consciously notice, but they will quietly stop ”caring” about a lot of choice issues; as the glorious project of Cameron-ism continues with all its austerity, and all of the cruelty, continued decay and extraction that entails, as well as the continued ramp up of anti immigrant rhetoric, transphobia, the anti worker policies and the crackdown on dissent and protest.

Hanlons razor with these fools, either: the octogenarian Joe Biden was made to look old with an elaborate web of audio visual distortions, that his own campaign isn’t talking about, or: the octogenarian Joe Biden looks old. There is no talking to these idiots.

Nobody knows what it means, but it’s provocative, it gets the people going!

It turns out US Navy boats can’t handle rough seas either. farquaad-point

The US MIC really is showing us what they can do.

Hilariously full of cope article from an irrelevant former power.

According to Grant Shapps, the weapon could have "huge ramifications" for the conflict in Europe.

Press X to Doubt.

The laser was originally expected to be operational by 2032… ….the defence secretary told reporters while on a visit to Porton Down military research centre near Salisbury that he wanted to speed this up even further. "Let's say that it didn't have to be 100% perfect in order for Ukrainians perhaps to get their hands on it," he said.

Very funny assessment of the readiness and efficacy of this Wunderwaffe.

Any suggestion that UK lasers could be sent to Ukraine to take out Russian drones is optimistic.

Ahh the admission in the article that the whole notion of uk made laser weapons being used in Ukraine is just a nato fantasy.

In the same vain I’m looking forward to future BBC articles about how the uk is sending a battle ready gundam to Ukraine next week

Once again techbros find a new way to make the world worse. Now your toothbrush can be part of a bot net. Nobody asked for this, and the suggestion that it should be possible is utterly deranged.

Another one for the “China is going to fall, for real this time” pile.
