The reason for having to add an egg, milk, or some other simple ingredient is because the mix companies found out people were more willing to adopt these mixes if there was a step where they had to do something beyond just adding water. Or at least this is what they told me on the Jiffy Mix factory tour as a child.

I was just thinking about the poor air quality today and yesterday here in the Midwest, and then I see this. I want to be hopeful we can change this in my lifetime, but I am also not optimistic.

I guess this is now an annual occurrence. Just lamenting how in my brief life that climate change has become a daily reality and it isn't getting better any time soon.

If anyone is interest in learning non-violent peacekeeping skills for events or direct action campaigns, Madison Friends Meeting (Quakers) is hosting a workshop on Sunday, September 14. A dinner and community building time will follow the training.
