Unless you’re talking about somewhere other than the US or you have some crazy locality, this doesn’t sound right.

In the US, the employer is legally obligated to make up the difference between what the employee earned (wage plus claimed tips) and minimum wage. In fairness to your point, that’s not a big help since the federal minimum wage is a joke. If they’re failing to do that, they’re breaking the law.

Additionally, taxes should be a percentage of their earnings. How would they be ending up with zero dollar paychecks after 40 hours?

I can’t argue with that

As much as I’m not a fan of Trump, based on that snopes article and the context around what he said… it’s pretty obvious that he accidentally said country instead of something like company. He followed up with remarks that made it obvious he knew that it was a toy company.

Both the Teen Titans Go show and movie are gold. I hope you’ve seen the “night begins to shine” episodes

Interesting! I didn’t even know GMU had a law school

I’ve been to George Mason and taken classes there. What makes it a right wing school? The closest thing I can think of was Edward Wegman teaching there and the dude was a professed liberal… he just didn’t agree with the math. Overall, I’d say my classes were left leaning. (Or maybe just sane leaning)

I’d say GMU is more of a commuter school/school for international students.

Haha no, but that’d make a lot of sense if I was

Everyone I know is named Kim for some reason. Men and women. It’s confusing

This printer does rock. Unfortunately mine has WiFi.

It’s pretty obvious when your hive dies from starvation.

I lost my hives this year due to me being a newish beekeeper and some very aggressive yellow jackets doing too much damage to my hives…. before I intervened

I might be lucky in that the worst reality show my wife watches is “The Challenge” which left most of its real drama behind and is now more like 30 or 40 year olds doing physical challenges.

Eh…. Of all the people I know in relationships, none of them are transactional like you’re saying and they all want to be supported. So, unless my area of the world is different, this may just be a vocal minority that you’re running into online.

Black Bean and Corn Salad (sh.itjust.works)

This is my go to lunch, usually good for a day or three until I no longer want to eat it. Each serving is around 20 grams of protein and 450 calories. Members of my family like pairing it with taco sauce, rice, corn tortillas or some combination of those. Grill fresh corn if you can, it’s way better.

Let’s see how bad I screw up the formatting!

Black Bean and Corn Salad (8 Servings)

Ingredients:

  • Black Beans: 1,680g (approximately 4 cans, or 8 cups cooked black beans)

  • Corn Kernels: 600g (from about 5 ears of corn)

  • Red Bell Pepper: 400g, diced (about 3 medium bell peppers)

  • Red Onion: 100g, finely chopped (about 2/3 large red onion)

  • Cherry Tomatoes: 400g, halved (about 2 2/3 cups)

  • Avocados: 2 2/3 avocados, diced (approximately 400g; add fresh each day if prepping in advance)

  • Cilantro: 40g, chopped (about 1 1/3 cups loosely packed)

  • Olive Oil: 120ml (about 8 tablespoons)

  • Lime Juice: 80ml (about 5-6 tablespoons, from approximately 3 medium limes)

  • Salt and Pepper: To taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Beans and Corn: If using canned black beans, drain and rinse them thoroughly. If using cooked black beans, ensure they are well-drained. For the corn, if using frozen, thaw it; if using fresh, cook and cool it as needed.

  2. Mix the Vegetables: In a large bowl, combine the drained black beans, corn kernels, diced red bell pepper, finely chopped red onion, and halved cherry tomatoes.

  3. Dress the Salad: In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lime juice, salt, and pepper. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss to combine.

  4. Add Fresh Ingredients: If prepping for the week, store the salad in individual containers. Add diced avocado just before eating to keep it fresh.

I’m a fan of slice of life type movies that showcase a point of time in someone’s life, a relationship, or culture.

Big fan of movies like About Elly, Twelve Angry Men, Ikiru.

I have the Criterion and Arrow video streaming services and like to pick random movies on there from time to time.

Any recommendations would be highly appreciated!
