Props on her for speaking up, though. Nothing changes if the status quo is toxicity and silence.
For sure! I hope nobody took either of our comments as dismissive of a victim or not believing what she shared.

Hey folks, looks like we found Linus's Kbin account!
Sorry, but I didn't see anything she posted that really has merit in this discussion. It's from one junior, inexperienced ex-employee, and most of what she said is just normally "unhappy employee" stuff.
Anything of value that she mentioned is already covered by other sources, most notably the video GN showed with LMG employees and Linus himself saying their pace is too fast.
Edit: I took the time today to properly read her entire thread and I changed my mind. There's a lot here that is very concerning and deserving of investigation.
They don't "have" to do anything. LMG chose to hire dozens and then hundreds of people in an effort to grow as fast as possible. Linus could have prioritized accuracy or quality over quantity, but that would have made less money, so he didn't.
How about the multiple merch plugs in the video itself or that the video was monetized, in direct contrast to the original video from GN not being monetized?
While also monetizing the video and plugging their merch, in direct contrast to GN not monetizing the original video that started this whole thing. Absolutely brutal move there.
Gamer's Nexus recently released a video detailing how LMG's pace-over-all-else attitude is in direct conflict with their "we're going to be a serious data company" plans for LTT Labs. What has people the most upset, however, is the story around Billet Labs. LTT did a terrible, rushed, unprofessional job at reviewing a custom prototype from a small startup--they used the wrong hardware (after losing the GPU the company sent them to test with), didn't care enough to re-test properly, and then auctioned off that hardware instead of returning it to the owners.
Linus then responded (only in a space he controlled, of course) and said "we're going to do better, trust me bro" and made everything 10x worse. GN was essentially forced to respond to that because Linus blatantly lied to cover up the timeline on the Billet Labs fuckup.
Oh, and LTT also released a video in the middle of this that had a ton of testing problems, just like the original video outlined.
Now we're here, where the new CEO, Linus's wife (and co-owner, to be clear) and the rest of the LMG leadership have to pick up the pieces to try and salvage their reputation.
Very disappointed with Linus and his whole perspective in this situation. He has consistently chosen to prioritize the business, and specifically the need for high volumes of content, over everything else. Likely part of that is to cover the enormous expense of building out Labs, but what is the point of that investment if the company culture behind it does not actually care about quality testing standards?
Setting aside "trust me bro" and the data accuracy problems, everything about the Billet Labs story is bad for LTT and Linus specifically. His constant and sole focus on the relatively minor cost is obnoxious, but it also reveals what is really motivating his decisions. The only good things I can say about his leadership instincts are that he seems to defer (sometimes) to his wife's better judgement, and on a similar note has finally given over the CEO duties to an actual adult, but now I wonder if it's too late for any of that to matter.
I have unsubscribed and won't be watching any LMG videos until I hear things have improved, but even then I'm not sure I'll ever enjoy seeing Linus himself in a video again.
The whole 'entertainment' angle is so ironic when considering what LMG is trying to become and how much money they are spending on that plan. They want to be seen as experts with objective, reliable data, but can't afford $500 of employee time to test things properly?!
This sure is a blow to that desired reputation.
which is why they used the wrong video card
Something that has stuck with me from the original video is how Linus reacted to his own employee when finding out they used the wrong card. He immediately took the guy to task for not realizing it was a 4090 instead of 3090TI. So they are incompetent with tech on top of being incompetent with normal communication/logistic stuff.
And these are supposed to be the experts?
he wasn't aware of the 4090 FE edition of this cooler
Yes he was, he commented on it in the original video, which the GN video included.
I don't think they ever say useless in the original video.
My bad, I should not have quoted a word that they didn't use directly. But still, his final conclusion, as included in the GN video, is that nobody should buy it, and not just because of cost.
I enjoyed the first season a lot, but I could not get into the second season. Lack of a similar framing device, missing some of my favorite actors (at least in the early episodes), but worst of all is, sadly, the performance by Richardson. From what I watched, the second season really leans into his "constantly talking to fill awkward silences" schtick. It was just too much. Nobody in real life acts or behaves that way and is not considered an asshole.
