2 main reasons are the church and the population numbers. A lot of people in the South go to church and get group-indoctrinated to right-wing political team ideology. The population numbers are an issue because black people are still a minority, although generally less of a minority in the South than most of the USA.

But have you had to deal with the rebuild of one of those when a drive fails? It sucks waiting for a really long time wondering if another drive is going to fail causing complete data loss.

This is accurate, and before anyone else downvotes I challenge you to google that shit. Homicides in the USA involving rifles are only 3% at most of the total. About 80% of mass shootings involve the use of handguns, while only 20-30% involve rifles (some crossover due to multiple guns used in events).

Yeah I would not touch RAID 5 in this day and age, it's just not safe enough and there's not much of an upside to it when SSDs of large capacity exist. RAID 1 mirror is fast enough with SSDs now, or you could go RAID 10 to amplify speed.

Good News! Cigarette Juice!

They definitely need to take that to court. Cops have no evidence of drinking to back up that charge if they weren't drinking. Get the charges dropped then sue for false arrest. Profit, then live well.

Cool trailer, kinda shows the characters' history between seasons. Nancy runs off with John Redcorn, the Hills move away, Boomhauer has a family, new black Hank moves in to the Hill house, Dale runs for mayor, grown Bobby babysits Good Hank for his step-grandma, and then the Hills move back to their same house and the new season starts.

I have seen an 85 mph speed limit on a 2-lane highway in Oklahoma. It was cool because I was in a fast car and I could go as fast as I wanted to (about 90).

Whatever he's doing now, he still did the right thing as an American by honoring his oath to uphold the US Constitution when he exposed the abuse against our rights. He deserves a pardon so he can return home.

Part of the definition of communism includes community (government controlled) ownership of everything. You could not own a house or land and the government could tell you that "your" property must be given to someone else at any time.

This would never work in the USA or really anywhere that values personal freedom. And therein lies the core issue with communism, as it destroys the freedom of individuals in sacrifice to the "greater good" of allegedly equal distribution of resources. In practice, like in China for example, the ranking members of the Party tend to get More Equal distribution of resources like having their own special gardens of organic produce that the common folks never have access to.

IMO it could only work in small communities of like-minded people, like the hippies and others used to do last century. At the nation-state level it inherently leads to authoritarian oppression of freedom.

Yes of course social programs to help those in need are good, and we should have more of them everywhere. Much of Europe has this all figured out and in place already without resorting to communist extremes.

What we have currently in the USA are programs for food assistance for the needy, medical care through programs like Medicaid (in danger) and state/county operated Health Dept clinics where the poor can get medical care for free or income-based costs. So we are not without help entirely but there is a lot of room for improvement.

Community property, community ownership of everything, and the kind of government that is required to enforce non-ownership of everything. Because in my experience when you let the community own something the dumbest bastards in town will just fuck it all up. Community ownership of everything only works when everybody is nice and considerate of others, but in the real world there are fucking idiots everywhere who don't care about the external world and others at all.

So for communism to work, you'd have to exile all of those idiots to somewhere else. Then you are Hitler 3.0 with mass deportations and camps all over again. There's no good answer to the inherent problems.

Awesome song by supergroup 3rd Secret, from their first album.

3rd Secret includes members of Nirvana and Soundgarden. Here's their Bandcamp page with all the details:

https://3rdsecret.bandcamp.com/album/3rd-secret

3rd Secret's first album is diverse ranging from folk to neo-grunge. The album coalesced into a single project from a mess of different projects that Krist Novoselic was involved in. They brought it together to make a great band of rare talent.

Their 2nd album "2nd 3rd Secret" is more focused and has more consistent feel throughout. You can tell that they operated more as a band than a collection of projects on the 2nd one.
