Let me introduce you to a show called, For All Mankind. It's on Apple TV here in Europe, not sure about the rest of the world.

Spoiler: you get exactly your wish.

Man the number of people who shit on Yoko while adoring Laurie Anderson really do not understand performance art. It's not necessarily meant to be "normally" musical. That's not the intention.

But whatever; people have their own tastes and that's 100% cool. I don't actually enjoy a lot of her stuff either, even if I can appreciate what she was trying to do.

Moreover, if you are fan of John's consider this: when he met Yoko he was a full on misogynist big time with blatantly capitalist aspirations. She turned that all around, stuck with him through his "lost weekend" and two rounds of herion addiction. Yes, this is not about her as an artist, but if we consider her as a person she was/is important.

I've reread a few most recently UoW (still blows my mind.) I think I want to reread Excession again next. I love all the mind-to-mind dialog.

But you're right; I should do them all again since it's been a decade!

And have in fact stolen my broodje haring straight out of my fucking hands as I raised it to my mouth to take the first bite. Fucker hit me from behind and curved in at the last second. Zandvoort Summer 2010. Never forget, never forgive!

That will be us, sooner or later no matter how savvy we are now. The tech will keep up with the grift, but at some point we won't be able to keep up with the tech.

That midnight FaceTime from your daughter will look and sound just like her, and she'll be calling from where she said she was going and her best friend will be there with her.

I am an Xer who manages a small but crucial team at my workplace (in an EU country). I had a lady resign last week, and I have another who may be about to resign or I may have to let go due to low engagement. They are both Gen Z. Today it hit me: the five years I've been managing this department, the only people I've lost have been from Gen Z. Clearly I do not know how to manage Gen Z so that they are happy working here. What can I do? I want them to be as happy as my Millennial team members. One detail that might matter is that my team is spread over three European cities.

Happy to provide any clarification if anyone wants it.

Edit. Thanks for all the answers even if a few of them are difficult to hear (and a few were oddly angry?) This has been very helpful for me, much more so than it probably would have been at the Old Place.

Also the second lady I mentioned who might quit or I might have to let go? She quit the day after I posted this giving a week's notice yesterday. My team is fully supportive, but it's going to be a rough couple of months.

Perhaps this is a dumb question, if so sorry! I don't want to move from here, but I do like the old-school layout over at mlmym.org
