As a Phillies fan I love TMac and wish they’d give him some better games. Panthers-Bucs…fucking making me actually glad I’m getting a commanders game on fox.

Ignoring all the dumb Reddit-ass “joke” answers, it helps a lot when you can shoot short of the sticks or the endzone. It completely changes how a defense had to defend third down. All of a sudden if you’re protecting the sticks a decent run by a RB gets them in position for an easy 4th down conversion. But then if you try to prevent them from getting into push range you’re potentially giving up bigger chunk plays.
edit I think the redzone it has the biggest advantage. Normally the defense would be at an advantage because they’re defending a much shorter field, but then they also have a tendency to defend past the pylons instead of before them.
Next week they’ll put Tyreek Hill in the wild cat to keep the streak going.
It’s not “eventually coming due.” The salary cap rises every year. All they’re doing is borrowing cap space from the future since a dollar now is worth more than a dollar then.
More teams should be doing it that way.

I truly believe that ending a season on a winning note is more important than having the first overall pick. What he did there was lay the foundation for a winning culture that DeMeco built on.
This is purely intangible and logically they’re probably just as good so long as they take Stroud, but it does say something that these teams that try to be bad to get picks usually end up staying bad unless they have a massive cultural overhaul.
