If Maquest didn't have that consistent battery drain issue. I would so back to using them. Prefer them over Comaps due to accuracy

I guess what I'm trying to say is, what is the growth of GOS gonna be? If Google is kicking them out and they're focusing on flagship phones from Motorola, then it sounds like they have limited their growth potential have they not?

Yeah, you can buy any phone to install any OS system (if you can even find the right model for it) or just degoogle it and use it like that. Thats not a big deal.

The ditching only comes in when you can't use apps because your OS no longer supports it. That too can happen to any phone.

Semi rant: (Pet peeve about the part in the chart about Apple) I use to have an iPhone, and experienced the phones from an iPhone 6, 12 to iPhone 15 and I can say that max is like 2-4 years, not whatever the hell that article is trying to suggest. Shit, if your phone is 1-2 OS system older than what an app requires, its gonna force you to update the phones. Longetivity of iPhones is very lackluster.

I know, but Im spcifically speaking on GOS and how they as well sound like they are closing themsevles off.

Even though that's true. Phones really shouldnt be expensive. GOS isn't supporting the older phones, I think the oldest you can go now is the pixel 7. Since GOS is stopping for the Pixel 11, Is there any other alternative OS that can be used for pixels? Or where are the other phones that supports GOS?

Google is closing in on their phones. GOS users in a time span of 3-7 years (depending on the pixel they have) would unfortunately have to find an alternative after that lifespan unless GOS starts supporting other phones that isnt breaking the bank. GOS as well is basically closing off their OS market. Which is why I made that comment. If you want the OS now, they're gonna make you pay for it.

Motorola is unfortunately gonna be in the same boat too when it comes to the prices. And I highly doubt GOS is gonna focus on their cheaper phones because they notoriously have poorer software. So now, it seems GOS is gonna be an exclusive feature. If you want it, your gonna have to pay for it.

I personally don't trust Motorola due to having poor experiences with their budget phones. Its not worth with unless you shell out the money.

What I feel no one is asking is, and what I'm still confused about, would MicroG still be working wthin all of this? Its a sandbox, I get it, but that dosent mean it could have the ability to stop working since it can't access apps. Like if that gets closed off, then what? There are still some app that are not fully stock android that a lot of people need to use unless you have them on computer or tablet ( For banking for example, I use my apps for all my finances on my iPad)

Maybe I don't get how the sandboxing works for MicroG but, if its using google, I would avoid it as much as I can.

They also got a store called Aurora Droid. Its another alternative to fdroid. Now I don't know if it'll help with some apps from Aurora store but its another alternative.

It just makes sense to just download everything from Droid-ify and/or Fdroid ( almost all of my apps are from these two). Yeah but even with that, it can still get shut off. Idk. . I wouldn't risk it.

I don't know... some of these apps I've been experimenting with, even with microG, of not work properly just because your not getting it from the play store. Also, with September being around the corner, I would try to stay away from google as much as I can.

Umm tbh I haven’t tried any of those.

I picked Delta cause it’s the most user friendly, you send a QR code of your chat or channel, make an anon profile and boom your done.

I know for myself I will go down and try those but I’m dealing with people who really don’t understand what FOSS and AOSP is, so I gotta take it slow.😅😅 My family thinks using Delta alone is going “off the grid” I don’t want to scare them off.

[–] Ripley_Tripley@lemmus.org 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I saw someone post the link but, One step at a time. My family is not on the FOSS journey like I am.😅

Since the family didn’t want to turn off RCS, I completely changed the app instead😂😂😂

I'm finally on the journey of buying my music, with completely stopping the use of streaming services. Ive seen this app being recommended as a cool music player and decided to try it out. I never had the original iPod Classic, but an IPod Touch, so I would assume thisll be the closest I can get to experience that. Works immediately as soon I put my music on my SD card. 😍😍😍😍

As the title states, either these browsers are nothing but full of trackers and ads or they are so locked down that they are basically not functional. Why can't I find a browser that is just a freaking browser but with no BS???

I currently have these apps on this phone and my A16 that I'm setting up as a travel phone, and I've been wondering since using them on what would happen if I just deleted them? Would all the apps I remove come back into the phone? Could I get rid of Canta and Shizuku if I wanted to? I really would not want to break my phones if that happens😳

I need to stop streaming and just buy my music, cause that's crazy 😬

Quick summary of the game:

SpoilerNo, I’m not a Human follows a nameless protagonist amid a bizarre outbreak. Creatures roam the night, pretending to be humans. Emerging from the very soil that brings flora into the world, these creatures are called “++visitors++.” Extra-terrestrial or not, their origin from the Earth’s core implies they may be the first residents of our planet. From their point of view, perhaps we are the visitors. Your job is simple: keep those visitors out and only let humans in.

But with their appearance and mannerisms much like ours, it’s hard to determine who’s real. Letting them in could get your human guests killed, but turning away the wrong person might just offer the same results—nowhere is safe. Surviving until morning offers few rewards as the sun rises in temperature day by day, keeping all residents trapped inside. Are the visitors even real? Or is this a simple case of hysteria from sunburn (like the English in a heatwave)?

Five nights to let the right one in, five days to learn more about your surroundings. Who will you let in?

Basically, alot of our surroundings is causing more of us to distrust each other, hide and only come outside during certain times of the day, AI altering images of perception and reality and the struggle to understand truth vs fiction.

Constantly on edge to protect yourself and unfortunately, only a few (whoever they are) that your trust. Either your gonna go off grid or you are forced to relay on the rations that are given from the government (as shown in the game) .

This is just a stretch of course, but alot of what is going on reminds me alot of this game ^^^^^

Before moving over here from reddit, there is this really nice forum I used to read called r/ContagionCuriosity. These guys do a phenomenal job at tracking and finding information of different diseases outbreaks.

I know you guys don't go on reddit, but I would highly check this one out about everything they have found abo it this outbreak. They doing a way better job, than me. https://www.reddit.com/r/ContagionCuriosity/

The data has changed alot, along with stating that a lettuce supplier is the cause of the outbreak of Cyclosporiasis.

As of July 16, The CDC has linked the Taylor Farms (Mexico location) produce supplied to Taco Bell to the outbreak of the parasitic illness.

Here is a link of someone making and recording all data that had been provided of the spread of the outbreak.

https://berny-rdev.github.io/2026cyclospora-watch/index.html

There's alot of information that can be found on the reddit, and the good news is, identity of origin has finally been found. Now it just needs to be stopped.

Latest update from USA Today from 4 days ago. Here is also CDC' s update on the confirmed cases as of July 13th, 2026: https://www.cdc.gov/cyclosporiasis/php/surveillance/index.html

My question to others on here: For those who are located in the marked states with the higher cases, have you heard anything or seen any postage in grocery stores, hospitals, restaurants, anything about warning on increasing hygiene practices for prevention of Cyclosporiasis? I've not heard anything since first reading about this, I have family who work in the trucking industry, hospitals, and sales ( to name a few), and I have heard zero heads up or warnings about this.

Cases are increasing but there is lag between lab recorded data and data collected from the hospitals. Here is USA today with CDCs data as of July 13th 2026.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/food/2026/07/11/cyclospora-outbreak-customer-restaurant-dining/90887452007/

Restaurants and fast food chains have taken precautions: good on them, they need to, but there is no word of mouth on anything. Will still keep following up on the news of this.

Like the question implies, I really want too get off of instagram. Its not the same space anymore, especially with the consistent push from Meta to use AI. Ive even made my profile private so those features don't automatically turn on. Its gotten crazy there.

Cyclosporiasis is on the rise in the US but the information on how to handle the parasite is very contradictory. Literally heard on the radio this morning that in order to kill Cyclospora cayetanensis, you have to boil your produce but the news is saying something else.

Please be safe everyone.

I'm on noob on Blorp, but the icons to comment on someones comment on a post versus when sending a private message to someone need to be switched.
