@AcumenDonor Is there actually any Mbin instances yet?

I do wonder when #META will actually open up to the rest of the Fediverse. It seems like each day is moving towards that it will never be open to it.

If it's your boss, All for it. If it's the employee to the boss, maybe it's time to look for new employee's

No need for anything if you aren't at home most of the time.

That or let's see that Gaming setup as you know that has some comfy shit.

Recently purchased Deadpool on Xbox 360, Glad I got it just got to find time between trying out the BETA of Call of Duty, The Edit that I've been sitting on for the past 3+ months as well as Marvel's Spider-Man 2 releasing in less than 10 days.

I've been using a cloud hosting provider under sync.com, great for actively syncing my files between machines I might be using as well if I wished to have any employees's later on as I was paying close to £30 a month I decided that it was best to self-host my files even if it was just by 10TB Hard Drives that only cost £200 each on Amazon (They are just USB External Ones).

I hope to be able to host my own NAS in the Future once my home office is complete (As we are currently painting and decorating the room) but well transferring all my files from my web-host I've been waiting over 7 days for the files to re-sync up to my PC for me to transfer each one into a new drive, it is painful and I can't wait to be able to remove myself from the service in the near future.

Has anyone else had similar experiences with Cloud-hosting before?

Waiting for all my Sync files to download back to my PC to be shoved off to a 4TB hard drive, gonna have to micro manage it as I don't think over 5TB of files will fit a 4TB Hard Drive.

Welcome @kw200102 to the Fediverse

So as I think about it, if one of these big Social Media's does die too quickly, the Fediverse is gonna have to be ready for a max influx of users moving across causing server outages.

So I have thoughts about what if platforms that we seemly are trying to move away from such as Reddit decided to Fedirate and join the Fediverse.

Do you think it would be beneficial or practical in the long run?

How do you think people would change their thoughts of the Fediverse if platforms like Reddit did do this sort of thing?

What would you do if Reddit did join the Fediverse?

Hey, I use the Adobe Suite for daily use to build and develop posts and videos for multiple people and can't have my workflow slow down by learning a new application, I've looked into Linux a few times and want to really move over in the future but due to it not having support for Adobe, I'm not sure what to do.

One of the other applications I use is Sync (sync.com), It's an application to sync your files from a folder to the cloud allowing me to switch from my to laptop (what I can't run most things on) and then I can still access the files on the go if I need to send them to someone.

I also play plenty of games on Steam but not all of them have native Linux Instances. I believe Proton is actually helping bring non-native games to Linux which is a plus as really wouldn't want to lose access to playing them.

Any advice on how I can get using Linux without losing these sorts of functions or do I have to wait till Windows annoys enough people making them all move to Linux first?

So i've been hoping onto the Random Magazines I find the look of on Kbin but a lot of them seem to be empty and made over a month ago, Why is this?

#kbin

When I first joined Kbin I didn't think nothing of it, I had already been enjoying and using Lemmy as well as Mastodon and other parts of the Fediverse, So I knew what I was roughly getting into but didn't release how much Kbin had to offer.

So here coming up to hour 24 of my experience so far I hope to keep on using this platform into the future. First of all Kbin is a bit more complex than just another Reddit clone as it brings both Reddit's 'Alternative' Lemmy as well as Twitters 'Alternative' Mastodon together in one place.

If you want to do a Mastodon / Twitter like post use the Microblogging feature but if you want to do a Lemmy / Reddit like post use the Threads Tab. This is one thing I was confused about and guessed wrong the first time I used the site.

What about Magazines, Well I'm not a huge fan of the name Magazines and much prefer the Lemmy name for them Communities, These are like Subreddits in Reddit. After using these for a while I started trying to find some of the Lemmy communities I enjoyed on there, Sadly if someone hasn't tried finding it before it's hard to find and once you do it doesn't have any previous posts making it have no content on it to being with.

What about the People Tab? Well the people section is great, if you like seeing what someone talks about you can check out there profile and follow them allowing you to keep up with what they get up too.

There's also some other cool features that really sealed the deal for me such as the Statistics Tab in Settings allowing you to look at how many Posts, Comments and Votes you've had across your profile, Also if your an Ex-Reddit user don't worry there's Reputation or as you knew it as, Karma allowing each person to have a usefulness score on the platform.

For my 24 hrs on a new platform, I'm glad i've learned so much and hope to keep using the platform into the future, I'm glad I will be able to have friends message through other Fediverse Instances like Mastodon or Lemmy allowing them to have there preferred platform it makes me feel as if the Fediverse is what the Internet was always meant to be.

I would love to hear about your experiences across the Fediverse.
