It’s always risky planting before the end of May. Last frost is around May 28. These were a little too big for my cloaches, but these were bought starters so semi hardened and I’ve had them in a cold frame for a week already.

They would need to hire to fill that old position anyways, or double up someone else’s workload.

And the unfortunate reality, hiring new is cheaper promotion usually implies a pay raise, and if the position you’ve held has already had a few promotions… you usually want to move with some esteem. Not at the very bottom again.

Training everyone for each step up is costly, while training one single person is trivial.

Promoting within the company is always faster…

Why are people comparing this to a new hire? Apples and oranges people.

Go to the farmers markets, big box stores don’t fluctuate pricing like that.

They just did an expensive Reno…. None of your comment makes any logic given that they just did an expensive Reno, they could afford to throw money around.

lol, a basic slab on grade with edge thickeners with 2x4 walls can handle 3 story buildings.

Got to 26c last week couple days later frost, now it’s 16c with lows of 2-4c and rain all weekend. Usually dry here, so not gonna complain about some rain. Just can’t garden those days.

Western society thinks it’s normal to read minds? Or that it’s embarrassing to ask friends and families a regular question? Never heard that before, or are people just embarrassed by asking for stuff and assume other people do to? Because none of this is “normal”.

Talking to people is what’s normal.

According to who?

First paragraph dude…

Earlier this month, the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement added Microsoft to its list of priority targets due to the company’s intense entanglement with the Israeli military via Azure cloud and AI services.

Think of the age that these books were meant to be read by.

If you think grade 4-6 children have that large of a world view….

So I bought some wildflower mixture, and they recommend to thin/blend with sand so you can see where you broadcast and go see it easier. So I took one step further and added clover as well.

I have 2 wildflower mixes, 10gs of each, I know it’s probably not enough to get a dense lawn, but that’s also why I thinned it clover that I’ve already started turning the lawn over to.

So I took about 1/2 of one of wildflower packets and mixed it with 1 scoop of clover seed and 5 scoops of play sand. Gonna broadcast my entire front lawn, ther grass isn’t too tall yet, although I should mow to the lowest setting first.

Anyways follow along for updates on this adventure!

Spent the day playing around with little bolts to put this together. Should extend my growing window by a month, won’t be able to extend end of season I think though.

Still not out of the woods for frost, but I transplanted the non hardened broom corn and planted some more seeds with them. I also transplanted a couple Marigold and Nasturtium starts with some seeds as well.

I left some space between the tall ornamental grasses as I’ve gotten a cold frame to install on the block above this narrow bed.

Consequences of still going hard, but not being able to install a greenhouse this year. These have taken over two 3x3 grow tents and then some.

There’s more germing on some heat mats too!

These are a collection of flowers; marigolds, aster, lupins, nasturtiums, straw flower, corn flower, decorative grass.

There is also for veggies; peppers (9 types), tomatoes (9 types), onions and leeks.

On the heatmat, there’s the 4-6 week starts, so cucumber, melons, more flowers and some cucamelon.

It’s my understanding that a bunch of root vegetables like carrots, daikons, turnips, parsnips, rutabagas, etc. all grow their first year to store energy for the second years seeding.

Parsnips and turnips/rutabaga iirc say to harvest after a frost or two to sweeten them up, so I missed a bunch.
