I don't mind the general hexbear ideology in itself. Sure. You do you.

But, damn, I see more than a few of its members just being obnoxious.

I wanted to raise my son with the understanding and patience that I was never afforded as a kid.

He is kind, loving, thoughtful, curious, smart, creative, and so much fun! Seriously, everyone loves him.

I defend him. I ask him questions. I encourage him to think about the things around him. I apologize to him when I'm wrong. I engage in things he enjoys (even if I don't). I take time to listen to him.

A big thing I've noticed is that people (typically other men) will define male worth by their relationships with women ("no gf", "kissless virgin", etc.). Maybe it's supposed to be a joke, but it really has evolved past that and engrained itself as a rotton seed in the minds of young men. Why do y'all think the rise of incels and aggressive, posturing adult men is much more prominent now?

Change up shitty masculine "values" and normalize kind, thoughtful, and caring men. Strive to also become one yourself and lead by example.

"But they're pro-LGBT!!"

Okay. But: have you seen everything else they post..?

They can have their space. Fine. But I haven't seen a lotta users from there acting particularly civil out in other instances.

I think this place might be too small for catch-all posts.

Just feel free to post a thread asking questions specifically about what you're looking to learn/accomplish. I'm sure folks would be happy to answer!

Seconding Subnautica.

It was one of the few games I've played where I felt sad finishing it.

The sequel does not have the same vibe, though, so be aware of that. It's an okay game, but it definitely misses the vibe the original.

I sure am addicted to being able to function normally every day.

I mean, sure, but..

— gestures vaguely at the rest of the entire site —

My folks used to have a shop located inside of a mall. They worked hard to make it pleasant for the people who stopped in, and part of that was putting out a small fridge near the front desk and telling guests that they were free to choose from an array of sodas while they waited. It was a nice gesture.

Patrons of the mall apparently caught onto this, and my folks started getting people who was stroll in, open the fridge, take a soda, then just leave, ignoring anyone who even said hello to them. It was becoming a more and more frequent occurrence.

The last straw was when one of the staff saw a lady pointing to the store and whispering to her young kid. The kid then strolled into the store, ignored the greeting from the staff, opened the fridge, took both arms full sodas, then turned and thing without a word. Several adults came in within the next few days and did the same thing: grabbed both arms full of sodas and left.

The staff then removed the refrigerator from the lobby and kept it in the back. After that, there were large amount of people would confidently saunter in, falter when they didn't see the fridge anymore, search around a bit, and then leave, never to return again.

Some even demanded to know where the "free drinks" went, one even going so far as to ask the staff "could you go get a few for me?"

People suck.

I've now seen one person complain about it.

I only used 3rd party apps to navigate, so it was never an issue.

Sounds like Reddit's solution for a barking dog is to run it over with a steamroller.

I've never seen this be an issue for anyone.

You're able to fuck around and get into shenanigans with taunts and stuff. It's not all just competitive, so I think that giving the option to goof around is great!

Since the game doesnt take itself too seriously, it lends the opportunity to play however you want. It's neat!

The art-style and character designs has also aged super well, too.

There's a lotta tech-folk on Lemmy. It's really nice when people are eager to lend you their knowledge instead of berating you for not knowing!

I help with a Discord server.

People don't fucking read. 🫠

Body is based heavily off the "Build-a-Bear" pattern, but the head is entirely self-drafted. The noses & eyes were made custom by me, as well.

The faux fur is dead-stock I had been keeping stashed away, and is one of the softest furs I've ever had the privilege of using!

"Shannon's Fabrics" minky solid fabric was used for the pawpads and muzzle.

This was taken at a traveling exhibit where I got to see items from "The Muppets", "Sesame Street", "Labyrinth", and more!

Shroompy / Mushroom Peepy is from "itemLabel", and Blitz is from "Omega Mart"

Made for my son and his friend.
