Article mentioned going to Canada to get your booster might be an option. I’m going to have to look into that as I won’t be voluntarily forgoing a booster this year.

I initially clicked through to see if there’s a date this policy will go into effect but it didn’t say

I will probably try to first get a booster now even though it’s too early, then try saying I have a serious risk factor because I’m sure CVS doesn’t fact check that shit for walk-ins, then Canada if all else fails. Fuck you brainworm RFK

Unemployment statistics don't count people who haven't looked for work in like half a year, aka people who have given up trying

Yeah, but you lose out on credit card rewards, aka free money, going that route.

I’ve used them a couple times where my privacy was worth more, and once where I didn’t want a company having a card to put recurring charges on

Technically it costs money even if their fees are forgettable.

That’s for a very good reason that they don’t allow that.

If it was allowed it would be a wet dream for credit card churning

So have I, but weigh that against the hassle of needing to call and be on hold and so on. Let alone the additional burden of knowing I have to stay on top of checking my statements for fraudulent charges

I’d rather avoid all that by never letting it grow to be a problem

And you can't admit it to anyone, lest you end up involuntarily committed for a couple days and also handed the bill for the stay 🙃

Well of course. Data brokers pay some bribes and their problems go away

This is why on steam I don’t store my credit card information, nor on basically any other site that I can get away with it.

Yeah it is a pain in the ass for the times I want to buy something, having to put it the card details every single time, but it’s worth my peace of mind if a breach happens. By this point I have memorized my card numbers so it’s not too awful of a pendantic habit now.

I got that 'just one more level' in my game but have sacrificed sleep I need for work in the morning. Huzzah!

This comic illustrates my internal struggle to get along with my trump bootlicker coworkers.

I have to schmooze a little bit to keep the working relationship running, but I feel disgusted every single day when the little hints of what they stand for peek out.

I have a family member living on my property in a separate but adjacent living space, close enough together to share my router's wifi. She likes to let her youtube app endlessly autoplay talking head news videos at full volume due to her hearing loss, and this goes on for a few hours in the mornings. The sound through the walls is annoying but headphones block enough that it's a non-issue as long as I can load something to play through them. The real rub is that I also would like to do something on the laptop during breakfast and her neverending news autoplay eats up all the bandwidth I am paying for when I want to use it. I can't cut off her internet, but I could prioritize my traffic over hers in the morning so that I can load an episode of something and listen through headphones. Yes I know this would be a bit unscrupulous but I have already suggested she not doomscroll via youtube all morning, to no avail.

Setting up a separate ISP account for the adjacent space isnt an option for the time being. The router/modem combo is ISP-issued and locked down by default due to too many service calls from people breaking stuff in settings. As far as I know it is not able to be swapped out to an off-the-shelf due to this being fiber optic internet, plus I'm only so-so in tech knowledge.

Which leads me to the title, can I put the ISP-issued router in a faraday cage, connect my own router via ethernet and be able to control settings via that route? Any reason I shouldn't/couldn't?
