Oh, thanks, I didn't realize that about advanced user mode, I'll look into it!

The link says that NoScript is "redundant with uBlock Origin"

I like NoScript because I can click on its icon on the toolbar, and easily select which scripts on a given page to whitelist, or which to whitelist temporarily (until browser quit.) And on any page, I can select which set of scripts (by domain name) on that page to run or whitelist.

With uBlock Origin, it's only "all script on the page" or "no scripts on the page", right?

I was guessing something like that. A quick google search show this was originally a reddit post, if you want to look there.

There's a difference between:

  1. Using ChatGPT to help write parts of the text in the same way you'd use a grammar- or spell-checker (e.g. if English isn't your first language) after you've finished the experiments

  2. Using ChatGPT to write a paper without even doing any experiments

Clearly the second is academic misconduct. The first one is a lot more defensible.

I used to think that when I became boss, I wouldn’t participate in the bullshit,

You can't change the system single-handedly overnight, but you can be active in your research community, e.g. you can suggest that conference proceedings be available for free online.

Also, if your trainees publish in journals, just make sure to put your pre-prints on arxiv or somewhere similar for free.

You can get the sponsorblock exension on standard android firefox now, if that's what you're asking.

This was a while back, but my cousin learned to program using Codecademy. These were self-paced courses using web interfaces, which was nice because they didn't have to install anything, they just used a web browser.

It looks like codecademy has a game development path: https://www.codecademy.com/catalog/subject/game-development

Their python chatbot course looks fun too: https://www.codecademy.com/learn/paths/build-chatbots-with-python

normal FF with ublock

This is the way (assuming you mean Ublock Origin, which I understand is superior to just-plain Ublock.) I also use SponsorBlock.

Well, we agree that she looked terrible. Here's the evidence: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYymRU-bfpQ

Indeed, I have little respect for advertisers and I disagree with her politics. But I wouldn't say I have no sympathy, and I offered a plausible explanation on why she might have taken the job.

THANK YOU! Those apps are so annoying, all I wanted was a shortcut to kbin and lemmy.

I had to wipe all my browser data for lemmy to finally let me install the shortcut instead of the (&$# app, but it finally worked.
