Arizona is one of roughly 20 states where judges must face the voters to keep their jobs.

Under the system, voters must decide to retain or reject judges two years after their appointments, and every six years after that. Of 1,500 judges who have gone through the process since the mid-1970s, only six have lost — and three of those losses occurred in 2022.

No Supreme Court justice has lost, but Justice Montgomery came close, in 2022, garnering 55 percent of the vote. Republican legislators, who control the statehouse, are now considering a proposal to make it more difficult to remove Supreme Court justices except in extraordinary circumstances.

The two members of the court who face retention elections this year are Justice Bolick and Justice King.

Given the likelihood that Arizona voters will already be weighing a ballot initiative to enshrine the right to an abortion in the Constitution, those judicial races may well attract more attention than usual, said Paul Weich, a lawyer who writes the newsletter Arizona’s Law. “I would anticipate that the abortion access initiative coalition is going to be urging people to not only vote for the initiative but to vote for no on retention for those two justices.”

Damn skippy I plan to.

Yeah, I was young when it happened preteen or early teen. That's what i kept wondering as it progressed and he was found innocent. OK, so who we looking to next? No one. Even if you took time to seek out news about it (I was in Indiana and internet was not as today, so that may have been part of it). Most of what you could find about anything after, was about the following Civil trial, not further suspects.

It's still there but it is not the same. I spent waaay to many hours in weird places thanks to that stumble button. Still regularly go to KOL, which I found there.

Never leave them alone together and it should be OK. We had an adult who was just a little funny in the head. Big super fluffy orange tabby. We had a small candle in the middle of our coffee table burning. Somehow, this crazy head decided it would then be good, while we were watching a movie, to do his most acrobatic love stretches around our legs and the coffee table. As we tried to push him away from the table a little his tail was moving around like a little periscope, or feeler, or something... next thing we knew, as he finally did move away, there was a little perfect tiny flame on the very tippy tips of his tail hair as he ran off. Of course I jumped forward to put him out, which he thought was a chase game and took off. I was young and able to dive and tackle him to make sure he didn't burst into flames or something. Just a couple burnt hairs, gross smell, and lost trust with me for the next day or so because of the tackle. He was super "special" his whole life and did things none of our other cats have. But, it put me on guard for the possibilities that exist and I'm super cautious with flames and fur going forward.

Oh! Same. You cannot portray the nuances of speech easily through text. I often feel like my intentions may be misconstrued if I don't emphasize or elaborate, lol. I still have an array of colored pens for personal and close friend/family use!

I haven't been to any outside the US, and admittedly not that many in, with how many there are. So far The Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix has been one of the most interesting to me and I didn't see it all by far. There is a "petting zoo" downstairs with a selection of instruments you can play too! It was crazy satisfying to bang a big gong.

Night Cafe. Free to use but limited uses. Can log in daily for 5 coins, do other tasks for some more. I found it pretty easy to save up a few days then go on sprees of trying things. There is a totally free option there too but it doesn't have some of the finesse of the coin use ones.

There are also daily challenges and community challenges, which I think are great to help with ideas. And some of the communities if come across are very helpful with things to add, or add as negative prompts, etc. There is a "group" of artists who leave their prompts open to see too. So when you look through or vote on the other art, you can click to see info and those folks have the prompts they used visible for that piece, in case it's helpful to you.
