The Spanish prime minister-- Pedro Sanchez-- is a political animal. He managed to maul and contain the far-right in a snap election he called. He has also spurred the economy and is growing, because he integrated many migrants well into the labour force. And even baser is that his government is pro-Palestine. All he had done in the past years granted him the political and social capital to enact policies that might ruffle the feathers of monied and powerful interests.

I hope Sanchez's government will survive any politicking against his progressive policies. The housing crisis is happening across the developed world, and oligarchs will propagandise the public into believing that the crisis is unsolvable, because resolving this will eat their bottomline.

There is a Saudi tribe that celebrate a flower festival with men wearing chained flowers over their heads.

High heel shoes originated in India as worn by horsemen to hold themselves during horse rides. The shoes then became fashionable amongst European nobility including men. Eventually, high heels became almost exclusively a feminine fashion for some reason.

A lot of gender stereotypes are really social constructs. As a multicultural man, if I am asked what does it mean to be a man, I don't really have an answer. If one travels the globe with an open mind, they will find that a lot of their preconceptions growing up will be challenged.

foreigners should get an even bigger tax.

Yeah, the Channel Island of Jersey only allows foreigners to buy property if they had lived in the islands for five years. They are only a handful places in the UK where they have relatively less pressure on housing. Not sure if they still do it though. Regardless, I am all for this.

The wealthy are corrosive to society, breaking down many humans for the sake of a few.

The rich co-opted being against rich, corporate landlords-- or any rich individuals-- from overseas buying local properties and contributing to housing crisis as "racist". I feel like this is talked about less. Instead, actual decent working foreigners are scapegoated.

DNC: I am here for the working people-- from billionaires, all the way to millionaires.

There is a book advocating for UBI, which detailed studies showing it is actually easier and cost effective to just give homeless people unconditional cash grants. Contrary to expectations, 9/10 homeless folks cleaned themselves and looked for accommodation.

A monied entity who likes to steal of one's labour. Shocking.

This reasoning applies to everything, like the tariff rates that the Trump admin imposed to each countries and places is very likely based from the response from Chat GPT.

Totally not a bot.

I think the issue is that if you had injuries at younger age, those injuries become inflamed again as you become older. There are athletes who said their injuries become inflamed again when they hit 30's. There are also soldiers who passed away after their old wounds became a problem again at old age. The body just can't keep up repairing itself anymore.

However, old injuries isn't just the only explanation. If one have hardly been sporty or did labour intensive jobs at younger age and feeling pain on the knees, it could be genetics. If not, then it is something entirely within the person's control: overweight. I have friends who gained weight tremendously over the years even though we are only in our early 30's. One of my friends could hardly walk for long at a pretty short distance. I reckon it is because they work from home and don't do any exercise (some of them became too jaded and insecure over the years to go to gym), while I and my other friend work on-site so we have more physically demanding jobs and we still do exercise.

It wasn't that long ago. The survey was conducted 3-5 years ago iirc.

I remember a survey done years ago that people say 30s and 40s are the best years of their lives.

The Ford F-150 Lightning overtook it with 7,913 registrations

It is ironic that it is the original American swasti-car who took over this generation's swasti-car.

According to Bloomberg, names like Mark Zuckerberg, Safra Catz, and Jamie Dimon all dumped massive blocks of stock while prices were still high. By the time Trump rolled out new tariffs on April 2, tech stocks had already started bleeding. Every one of those early sellers dodged a bullet, and the timing is loud as hell.

Executives sold billions as Trump’s tariffs loomed

The first quarter wasn’t quiet. Trump’s team hinted at sweeping tariffs leading up to April 2, a day he branded as “Liberation Day.” That threat shook investors. By the time the announcement dropped, billions had already been erased from global markets. The tech world felt it the hardest. Elon Musk reportedly lost $129 billion this year as stocks tied to phones, chips, and software kept slipping. A few billionaires are already buying the dip, but plenty have already made their exit.

There is more to life you know? When will liberals learn.

Edit: I changed the title so that people will understand what I am getting at. It is important to realise that economic anxiety trumps other concerns, especially in the growing wealth inequality and the overt shows of oligarchic rule. As Franklin Roosevelt said: People who are hungry and out of a job are the stuff of which dictatorships are made.

As everyone knows, Reddit is cannibalising itself and the longer time goes on, the users will have deleted their accounts and/or migrated to somewhere else, or they will simply forget about their accounts and log-in details.

I wasn't fully convinced before that Putin has Trump in his pocket, but after that stunt, I am convinced that he is under Putin's thumb. Trump and co. could have had marching orders from Putin to do exactly that. Also, this is something that Putin have done and would do, publicly humiliating someone on live TV.

Why would they want to win anyway? When they are already winning from so much corporate donations???!!!

And unfortunately lemmy.ml is getting more online traffic recently.

I saw plenty of kintsugi kits available in my area (to those who do not know what kintsugi is, it is the art of fixing broken ceramic/pottery items using lacquer). However, I do not know if the quality is good for the price presented by these shops. Could anyone knowledgeable or experienced in kintsugi give some tips? I'd appreciate any help and thank you in advance.

I got hyped by the TV series so I will play the game for the first time (yes, I know, it took this long). I usually prefer to buy GOG version of a game but I saw the rating of FO4 GOG at 3.9/5. Why is that? I have read somewhere that there is technical issue of some sort which includes modding for GOG version? I expected higher gamer rating for FO4 in GOG but a lower rating typically indicates for me some genuine issues.

Edit: also the GOG Version says it does not include the Creation Club. What is it and is it in some way better than using Nexus mods?

Ignoring the lack of updates if the game is buggy, games back then were also more focused on quality and make gamers replay the game with unlockable features based on skills, not money. I can't count the number of times I played Metal Gear Solid games over and over to unlock new features playing the hardest difficulty and with handicap features, and also to find Easter eggs. Speaking of Easter eggs, you'd lose a number of hours exploring every nook and cranny finding them!

I was watching a video on Willem Dafoe on his iconic roles, and his passion to craft and life, and positivity, exudes from him immensely. In that video, I am surprised he remembers from which of his movies the lines came from. It made me love him more as an actor because he loves life and his job.

But then during the interview, I remembered too when I watched Kevin Spacey's interview before, admiring him and it turned out he is a creep. I was telling to myself about Willem Dafoe "please don't be a creep, please don't be a creep."

Willem seems like a genuinely nice guy though but I hope I don't get proven wrong!

Edit: clarified the title
