No actually works on more. If you grind a human into a seive into salt water, pour the salt water into a busy walkway.

After forensics is done in there... the cleanup crew also organizes it into sponges, Mops... and all kinds of tools.

Bottom line, it's basically the exact same intentional misinterpretation that the right does with DEI.

IE what DEI actually calls for: Look for candidates everywhere, give a shot to them all regardless of race or background.

What they act like it is: "You have to pick the minority candidate no matter how underqualified he/she is".

Same concept as the left wants for our candidates. What we want isn't an auto force out the old guys... we want actual fair competitions that picks candidates by their actual abilities and skills, rather than just the assumption that the person who's had that seat for 30 years, should keep it over a new person that wants the job.

I kind of do and kind of don't... Trump is a useful idiot to putin, and maybe a few other groups pulling the actual strings. IMO vance is probably scarier in likelyness to be effective.

Unfortunately so far only republicans have the violent tendencies and willingness to die to make the attempts... and also they just aren't competent enough.

Wait, is this implying the heavy set man with the glass of water is dehydrated and malnourished?

[–] TheFogan@programming.dev 2 points 1 week ago

Agreed, though also does need to be scaled with the time you are comparing to's essentials as well. IE land line phones were essential before we reached a point where cellphones are allowed to be used for similar services. But yeah fully agreed in modern times... Essential living cost should be

"Food"

"Rent/Housing"

"Utilities" (IE power/water/Sewage etc...)

"transportation"

"Internet + Celphone".

I think a further thing to point out in this math... is we'd also need to take into account average transportation and food expenses. Because while I'm not smart enough to do the math to calculate it out. On top of say housing relative to income doubling. Prices of necessities also need to be calculated out. If housing costs scaled with wages, but food cost doubled wages, that would still be a large factor on buying power.

actually waiting for that shoe to drop... Oz was announced way early on, but to my knowledge hasn't started the confirmation hearings right?

Because writers/politicians/scientists are still considered such in life no matter what. On the other hand, if a billionare loses all of his money... he can in fact not be a billionare anymore.

Nah AI was trained with mario 64 start screen variants.

and apparently the color pallets for Mario, Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, but only the models of mario.

I mean I totally wish that was the case... unless JD Vance has some really clever deal going on with them, I wouldn't imagine, assassination is the play, you don't kill the guy who's clearly willing to jump at what you want.

What do you mean, it's got all the famous mario characters, You've got Mario... Green Mario, Yellow Mario, Purple Mario, Cross eyed regular mario... and giant nosed Mario. It's got all the classic mario characters.

Hey everyone.

I have my homeassistant setup. Something I'm looking to do is a simple alarm clock, slowly turning up my LED strip, and gradually say turning on music in 1% increments. But I really haven't had much luck coming up with a not silly $100 + system to, just have a music player that hass can control. I have a basic bottom line tablet in our bedroom set up as a home assistant dashboard. we have a paid spotify account.

But I'm kind of losing my head trying to wrap around exactly what or how to actually get a controllable system. that can be set up in my bedroom without any costly additions to my bedroom. We have plenty of bluetooth speakers, but to my knowledge all of them require actually turning them on manually if they weren't playing music before. Which kind of negates their value for an alarm clock.
