I've established a complaint thread if you'd like to comment your complaints there.

We are committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, personal appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, age, religion, nationality, or other similar characteristic.

We will exclude you from interaction if you insult, demean or harass anyone. That is not welcome behavior. In particular, we don’t tolerate behavior that excludes people in socially marginalized groups.

This 'struggle session' has cut open a sore of cisnormativity which allows plausible deniability of transphobic action and thought. It's senseless and insensitive to push back against what should be a non-issue. Cis and trans alike, set your pronouns so as to normalize an aspect of trans inclusion that goes some way to dispel cishet patriarchal norms assumed default by almost every space, especially online.

There is no excuse (that hasn't been considered and discussed and where applicable, taken on board) to push back against this as we as a community have. We can (and should) do better.

Apologies for the delay but here they are. As per usual, if your pronouns aren't in the list, please comment them here and I'll see that they get added.

UPDATE: “Undecided” and “None/Use Name” have now been added.

Tell them to shut the fuck up and cope. That's what I'm about to start doing for both sides. I do not give a single fuck about which way a person swings in terms of anarchist vs ML. No one on the right has any issue siding with literal nazis to accomplish their goals but we're too worried about "wahhhh but tankie authoritarianism bad" and "wahhhh anarkiddie big dumb counterproductive". We can purge each other after the collapse of capitalism if it comes to that. If anyone genuinely gives a fuck enough to argue about this shit when we aren't even close to any of our ideologies actually being implemented, they're probably a liberal. Let them cry in their corner and give them no attention. The time spent giving them the slightest bit of attention could be better spent on radicalizing liberals, convincing people to arm themselves, getting involved within your own communities with volunteer work, or just shitposting.

~~I can't find a free copy online (y'all are more than welcome to take a second look) and I feel horrible asking others to buy it. If enough people are interested in the group reading of trans literature but can't afford the book, we could do a group reading of Leslie Feinberg's Stone Butch Blues, which is free here but it's not as radicalizing or theory oriented as I'd like.~~

I... uh... found... a free copy on LibGen. Get your epub copy here.

FIRST MEGATHREAD GOES UP ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24TH. GET TO READING, LIBS. TAKE NOTES AND COME READY TO DISCUSS.

The book is 147 pages. We're all busy and some of us (and by this I mean me) are slow readers, so I'm thinking we have three megathreads in !transenby_liberation over the course of three weeks. ~50 pages of the book each week. I'd open a megathread each Saturday morning where we could drop notes, quotes, or discuss things that opened our eyes, educated us, or inspired/motivated us.

Everyone would be welcome, not just trans and enby comrades. I'm personally open to answering any questions that cis comrades have about our own lived experiences throughout the reading and I encourage other trans and enby comrades to be open as well, if they feel comfortable; absolutely no pressure though!

I think this could be an incredible opportunity for us to have an open, educational dialogue with our cis comrades to better educate them on what trans rights entail and how best to support trans and non-binary folk.

I hope I'm not being too idealistic with all of this. Let me know what y'all think and we can go from there, I suppose. I'm more than open to suggestions on how to handle all of this too.

Not a requirement, just a suggestion. I'll even include a link so y'all don't have to excessively move your thumbs to search for it: https://www.workers.org/book/transgender-liberation-a-movement-whose-time-has-come/

You're welcome. Read up, liberals. ❤️🥰

EDIT: As pointed out by /u/therivercass, please note that this pamphlet is from before our contemporary understanding of gender identity and so it mixes transgender people, as we understand them today, with the gender non-conforming. In the process, it calls transgender men “transgender women” and vice versa for transgender women. I understand that this could be uncomfortable for some, but despite that, it is still a very important and crucial read as it gives a brief, yet informative, overview of the historical trials and tribulations that our people have faced and continue to struggle with under patriarchal, cis-heteronormative capitalism.
