You probably got downvoted for saying that the thing that is necessary to exist in the world today without having to constantly deal with legal or systemic troubles related to homelessness is a good investment.

I doubt anyone was offended by you saying you get paid to take pictures of houses.

I’m guessing you have never had to deal with the dependency hell that is existing as a homeless person in a country like the US.

Did you know that if you don’t have an address in many states that you are unable to get a license or ID? Did you know that if you don’t have an ID you are ineligible to work in the United States? Did you know that you could try to establish your ID again by getting your birth certificate and SS mailed to you if only you had an address? Did you know that the advice to get a P.O. Box is only useful if you have two forms of Identification 1 photo, and 1 non-photo?

As someone who is queer and had to escape an abusive situation with my parents I am intimately familiar with the invisible pit falls that homelessness causes people and how the entire system has been designed to make you a 3rd class citizen, if you can even prove your citizenship at all.

The smartest sports fan I knew was an Auburn fan. He had gone there and gotten his education, became a self important engineer at a major transportation company. His password for half a decade on everything, personal or commercial, was a variation of War Eagle.

I do not understand how even the smartest of sports fans manage to make it their whole personality to the point that they can’t even come up with a decent password because the most obscure thing they can think about is the very popular Eagle thing his college had done for decades.

There was one night I was drunk As all hell, I can’t remember if I was on YouTube or Facebook or what, but this video came on of this guy trying to find out what happens if you eat nothing but corn, how does it come out. Turns out the first time he tried it, he forgot to not chew, so it came out as poop, but the second run he swallowed it all whole (supposedly) and had a paper plate full of slightly off color corn.

So yeah, thanks for that memory.

If you want the “it just works” Linux gaming experience Garuda Gaming edition installs pretty well configured out of the box.

I haven’t had to do any weird hacky stuff to get my goods working, but I also don’t play online, and mostly on older games at this point, but Jedi Survivor worked OOTB.

I miss when trillian or a well configured Pidgin client was all you needed to talk to EVERYONE. Now half my friends have telegram, three have Facebook, the normies insist on sending me exploding videos on Snapchat that start playing muted so I can’t even hear what they are trying to say, then work wants me to use the crew app, friends want me on discord, I just want to use session.

Is a mess

I mean, we also have multiple sphincters, so there are many ‘holes’ in our straw, hence why I said in as many words as possible that I don’t believe that, and am not arguing it, but that I can understand the “supersimplified” understanding of things that can lead to that understanding using the human body as the common point that the ‘common sense’ 2 hole argument could originate from, whereas the person I was replying to said they couldn’t understand that kind of reasoning.

I mean, while I agree with the sentiment, I can understand the 2 holes side of the argument.

If you want to break it all down and super simplify it, you could argue that your digestive tract is a straw, so why do you differentiate between the start hole and the end hole?

I will not take that position though, because as I said, it’s over simplified.

Yup, sounds like my local community “Facebook Rant and Rave” group.

What’d you find?

I suppose it depends on your outlook. I’d rather have had the passive income over time paid in stock options that multiply in value that I can get interest free loans against to file tax losses than the one time payout you have to pay gains on.

Hindsight is 20/20

Edit to add: there’s also a non zero chance that Meta swooped in like Disney did to Central Florida, set up a secret shell company to buy the property under value so no one knows what big business is behind the acquisition.

Heinz doesn’t sell those beans in the states usually. If you do find them, they are in the “international” food section next to Jelly Babies and Mars bars.

You just know someone bought that domain hoping to turn it into a gangbusters online clothes retailer and the best they could manage to do is camp on it and sell it.

Could’ve been Bezos, instead was a bozo.
