After industries had already spent billions to implement it? There’s little to be gained by repealing it. Initial investment has been made, now it’s just operational costs. Yes, new businesses still have to cop it, but they don’t have to go through the 5 years of figuring out how to interpret the GDPR legislation as the rest of us have already done that heavy lifting. Cutting GDPR now would just be a step back on a competitive advantage/moat that sets EU orgs apart from American (or the rest of the world)
