Ned Kelly was an Australian outlaw, known for his defiant stand against colonial authorities in the late 19th century, culminating in his capture and execution after leading a rebellion against the police.

The Jerilderie Letter doesn't explicitly mention anarchism, but its themes align pretty good with anarchist principles.

Ned Kelly criticizes the established authority, particularly the colonial legal system, and speaks out against police brutality and the exploitation of his family, which aligns with anarchist critiques of state power and hierarchical structures.

His rejection of authority and advocacy for justice and equality can be seen as a precursor to some of the anti-authoritarian ideas found in anarchist thought.

Declaration of Educational Warfare — A Manifesto from the Classroom Frontlines

This is not a reform. This is a rebellion.

I wrote this as a public declaration—because the education system is not broken.

It was built this way.

What we call “school” is often just a pipeline: from trauma, to obedience, to silence. This isn’t about fixing it. This is about burning it down and building something that actually nurtures minds.

Your logic has one critical flaw: you’re assuming the dollar will have any value in the future.

So you think society is gonna collapse?! lol

You also assume there will be electricity and an internet reliable enough to keep a Bitcoin network functional. If Trump triggers WW3 and you have to barter for food, your pretend electronic money will not be worth a damn if you can’t spend it and nobody can accept it.

Oh, you DO think society is gonna collapse. Sorry man, I know you want that to happen because you think it would be a tasty revenge on Trumpers. But it's not gonna happen. Society isn't gonna collapse anytime soon. Keep dreaming!

But hey, I don't give a shit if it does or not. I'm retired. I live on my own land. I farm and garden. I have several years back-up of everything. A rain collection system, live near creek. Guns, ammo, and everything I need. Wild game close by. Dried food supply for up to 2 years.. 3 if I wanted to reduce calories. (Mormon, so we are prepared. Satanist so I ain't scared of shit.)

So bring it on!

Still won't happen though. Short-term calamities like another pandemic can tho. I was prepared for the last one, too. I didn't lose a wink of sleep or change my routine at all during covid. I had a great time, and it was honestly one of the best times in my life. Me and fam, hung out, did whatever we wanted and never had to leave my land. It was awesome!!

And I'm all stocked back up from when I used my reserves during that time. :)

But WW3 and the end of the world brought on by Trump, that Lemmy so desperately wishes for so they can say "I told you so!" ain't gonna happen, friend.

I'm not fan of Trump, and I was too busy to get on that hype train. But if I would have jumped on, I would have bought a bunch in the morning. Then sold that night. Use the profit to buy bitcoin. I was actually planning to do that, but I was in vegas with my gf, and I had gambler fatigue. Tho I profited in Vegas too. I left about $3K ahead. So it was a good time.

I won't miss next one though! Cuz I'll follow thru on my strategy next time. lmao

Yes, I am asking you that question, and what does my name have to do with it. I don't understand

How are they suffering and dying? What makes this different than any other time?

[–] UniversalMonk@lemmy.today 0 points 1 month ago

What?! What are you even talking about?

[–] UniversalMonk@lemmy.today -2 points 1 month ago (6 children)

but when I look around I see people everywhere fired up to fight for positive change, people who are existentially fed up with the status quo.

Yeah? So where were they when the election as going on?

I see people that don’t want to have to wait decades for a chance at bringing democracy back and are fighting in every way they can to stop the cruel conservative destruction of society and government happening all over the world, the US included (and chiefly responsible).

Yeah? So where were they when the election as going on?

I'm having a great time and I love watching what is going on.

No, the things I say, and the things people like me say will change things.

Yeah? And when is this change gonna happen? Lemmy users aren't gonna look up from their vid games long enough to make any change happen. They'll bitch about it on Lemmy. They'll downvote posts they don't like. They'll upvote all talk of a revolution.

But none of them will do it. There will be no change. Look around. lol

Sure, but nothing you said is going to change anything. People are going to continue to gamble. And by cryptocoins. And listen to the U.S. Treasury Secretary. Regardless of how mad you are.

I totally support your right to your opinion. But the majority disagree with you.

[–] UniversalMonk@lemmy.today -1 points 1 month ago (12 children)

Well, it's the U.S. Treasury Secretary. Not that you're wrong, but people have been saying that about Bitcoin for years.

I'm biased of course since bitcoin helped me retire early, but I don't think it's so much a "scam" as it is another form of gambling. Only buy as much as you can afford to lose if it all goes belly up.

But Bitcoin isn't really anymore of a scam than the stock market these days. Both are gambling. Both involve people richer than us. Both involve computers/ai. And both an help ya out if you are cautious, wise, and watch the market closely.

But I def paid off my house before I fucked around with any of it! lol

This is good news for bitcoin! And me. :)
