is nextcloud still the best to host a small amount of files that need to be accessible anywhere and backed up? and carddav caldav in c/selfhosted@lemmy.world

Yup, agree with this. I personally use Nextcloud but there are lighter solutions just for file hosting/syncing.

How does this work for a google account that I've got linked in gmail to my standard google account? Is that classed as active or do I need to login to each one manually still?
