An old song from the 90s comes to mind.
"You and me, baby, ain't nothin' but mammals, so let's do it like they do on the Discovery Channel."

Are you just curious or will this influence who you support? If it's the latter, why? (I'm just curious.)
Do you know an easy way to retrieve link B? As a piefed.ca user viewing a piefed.social post on a lemmy.world community, I see no easy way to retrieve the lemmy.world link. If no easy way exists, then I guess it settles the B vs. C debate.
I love GOG for being a champion of DRM-free games, but this prompt for donations kind of rubs me the wrong way. They're asking customers to fund their preservation efforts and then pay again for the finished product. This would be better if they followed the crowdfunding model where backers are given rewards. Maybe GOG could announce new (technically old) games they want to preserve, accept crowdfunding and then offer steep discounts (or the actual games) to the backers.
I don't know. I think it's actually kind of cute. I like it.
My problem with AV1 is that so many people I talk to in real life about it think I'm mispronouncing AVI (Audio Video Interleave), the old container format that was popular in the 90s and early 2000s. I tell them it's a video codec and they act all surprised like H.264 and H.265 are the only ones in existence.
