Why does it look like a McNugget

So my neighbour/pot dealer has this cactus that we both think is a peyote cactus. Are we mistaken? in c/greenspace@beehaw.org

I don't think so. It looks like it might be an Exhinopsis subdenudata but I can't be sure.

Peyote tend to have a 'fatter' appearance without as much seperation between the bumps: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peyote#/media/File%3ALophophora_williamsii.jpg

Repotted into a mixture of 1 part granite, 1 part pumice, 1 part perlite-heavy store bought cactus mix. I washed the rocks before adding them so it's still a bit wet in this pic.
