Yeah but he died. The health benefits were explicitly NOT outweighed because he's fucking dead!

Good health and love aren't worth much when you cease to exist.

Also, his mom gotta bury her son. She thought he was gonna go out, live his life, do stuff. Now when his birthday comes, she will cry. She gets to throw all his stuff away or box it up and save it because shes too heartbroken to get rid of it.

Splendid! Let the flames cleanse all!

It isn't a magic solution, no, but you have a lot more control than crummy layer 3 firewall rules and endless lists.

The big players have far more data about what bad looks like. Either we can play whack a mole with outdated tools and techniques or get smart and learn to use what is available.

Self hosting doesn't mean we go backward in terms of the sophistication and difficulty, it means embracing modern solutions.

In the dinosaur days, we had primitive tools, but so did the attackers. We cannot hope to self host with any measure of security if we bring piss to a shitfight.

My bonehead orange harasses me constantly. If i start talking to him while under siege from a volley of howls, he will just howl MORE.

FAR TOO NOISY.

They all sit on each others boards.

However it just takes a few activist board members who have big time fomo and want to be early in with a virtual CEO.

I'm sure I will be put out to pasture first, but at least I will be laughing from my cardboard box.

Lie to employees, absorb money, travel needlessly, tell everyone to RTO when they are never in the office, take a fat bonus, fire people, bullshit the board and stockholders, pull ripcord on golden parachute, lather rinse repeat.

Yeah, i think an ai could handle most of that.

Because mike Meyers is entertaining and the movies are well-made goofy fun.

Its not so complicated. Also, does anyone still make comedy anymore? Seems like it has fallen off a lot.

Get a WAF. Sophos firewall is free if you want to diy. If not, use cloudflare.

Opening ports, logging, monitoring, nailing up allow listed IP addresses and dicking around with fail2ban is such a timesuck. None of that crap will stop something from exploiting a vulnerability.

Some things are worth farming out to a 3rd party. Plus, you can just point your DNS entry over and be mostly done. No more dynamic IP bs.

I totally have a hormone imbalance, but if being normal means wanting to do dangerous stuff, I will happily remain imbalanced.

I will never understand the appeal of such dangerous hobbies.

Roller coasters are pretty thrilling and dont come with the risk of death (typically).

I like being alive more than I need some thrills.

I've been slowly moving away from Reddit, but I still go there occasionally. I was using it last night. Today, my account does not work. As I never used a real email address for it, there is no recovering it, but it's weird that it's just GONE. I had two other alts, both also gone. There was nothing that I saw in an inbox or message anywhere about "hey, we don't like you, you go away now" or anything. Just POOF. Anyone else or just me?

Perhaps it's for the best, just rip the band aid off and stop hanging around there anyway. Good times were had, but I guess it's time to move on.

With the recent issues of Tea (teaforwomen.com) posting unsecured user data, it's easy to spot the heavy bias of male users in the comments. With a 90% male demographic, Lemmy will face problems related to a homogeneous user population and all the issues that come with it. Right now, it's shaping up to be misogynistic, but it could also head into other bad places. Lemmy needs to attract a more diverse population of users or will end up as another echo chamber for the like minded. https://www.similarweb.com/website/lemmy.ml/#demographics
