With the motorcycle, they were clearly inspired by Laika: Aged Through Blood 😏

I really liked that Nine Sols had an difficulty slider. It was much harder for me than Hollow Knight, but I could adjust the slider instead of banging my head against the wall. I sometimes can enjoy the satisfaction of completing something tough, but I have limited time to play games and it’s getting trickier with a young child.

Needs no introduction in this sub. I'm getting this out just before hitting play.

Discover a vast, haunted kingdom in Hollow Knight: Silksong! Explore, fight and survive as you ascend to the peak of a land ruled by silk and song.

No reviews are out yet, but I really doubt you need one for this.

😏 just a little…

I have a 15-month-old, so I’m going to hire a full time au-pair so I can play this game.

After six years of near-total silence from the developers and enough feverish anticipation to make it the most wish-listed game on Steam, the sequel to the indie hit Hollow Knight is releasing in two weeks. Team Cherry, the small team behind both games, announced the news Thursday in a trailer.

Why did it take so long?

I think it's safe to say… finally!

Including the original Switch

Discover a vast, haunted kingdom in Hollow Knight: Silksong! The sequel to the award winning action-adventure. Explore, fight and survive as you ascend to the peak of a land ruled by silk and song.

Looks like it could be cool! But I can't find any reviews on this. It seems to be flying under the radar.

An exhilarating action-adventure game set in a vibrant retro-futuristic universe. Embark on daring interstellar journeys, uncovering new worlds, and battling formidable alien adversaries. Upgrade your ship and abilities as you explore the vastness of space to save the Galaxy from a hidden threat.

Solid reviews, with some people raving about it.

  • Steam
  • Playstation Even though I see it listed for all platforms, I can't find a link to game for Nintendo & Xbox 🤷🏼

That’s my description. The mechanic is something I haven’t heard of before. It may be gimmicky, but we’ll see…

It seems like it, but isn’t crystal clear. The Steam listing has “online co-op” listed, but Artplay doesn’t talk about it in their press. I’ve seen other places highlight it, but they could be mistaken.

Thanks! How are you viewing it when you use Lemmy? In a browser? Voyager? Curious as I don’t think playback is consistent across platforms.

The Early Access reviews are “mostly positive”, so here’s to hoping they iron out the kinks. I like the style, but will be cautiously optimistic until I see the final reviews.

Last year felt like the best year for releases, and this year has a ton of bangers already and may end up beating 2024.

There are some great releases on the horizon. I’m about to post about the new Metroid and the dystopian Pac-Man metroidvania.

Good times.

Fixed. Thanks!

After you play a bit, I’d love to hear what you think

I was surprised by the focus on Ultros, but not Animal Well. That game is already one of the genre’s hallmarks. I liked Ultros, but know it’s not for everyone. Animal Well isn’t as traditional an entry, but a smash hit.

Yeeeaaahhh…🧐 I think that snake isn't alone. Some of the other screenshots feature some mamajamas.

Out of curiosity, if someone posts a YouTube link and you auto play the video, what gets shared with YouTube?
