I’m just looking at nces statistics, specifically the percentage of parents that homeschool for moral or religious reasons, and drawing conclusions that may very well be bullshit. Glad it worked out for you, but I can’t help but feel sorry for kids I’ve known who would have benefited from a secular education. It’s pretty embarrassing to explain evolution to a twentysomething.

Homeschooling is child abuse, in the majority of cases. Kids need to interact with other kids, and be taught by people who are trained to do it effectively with curriculum that isn’t based on the invisible man in the sky’s alleged preferences.

Literally the wet dream of every gun owner.

The graphical user interface.

They don’t invent it (xerox PARC did), but Apple correctly identified that the user experience of existing computer systems was holding it back from being a thing everyone owns, and made computers a bad fit for many types of work that seem extremely obvious now (digital media creation particularly)

They did this more or less again with the smartphone: business folks and super nerds were the smartphone market before Apple. Now it’s the average person’s computer.

Not OP, but I would like to state that I am ok with that. You pulled a human out of the loop, and that comes with risks. Business decision.

Why would it want to be more than a good DnD campaign? That’s exactly what Larian hoped it would be, and pretty much what it is. It’s not as open-ended as a real campaign can be, but given the scale and quality of the content, it’s really something special. It’s only the best dnd game ever made.

It isn’t being a “trad wife” that’s problematic, what sucks is growing up in a subculture where you’re repeatedly told what your expected role is based on your arrangement of DNA.

Keep an eye out for https://github.com/Memmy-App/memmy. I’m not going to do TestFlight but look forward to it making it through the App Store submission process.

And wefwef.com, working well for me on iOS at least.

I’m hoping for an instance with a fully transparent management and overhead structure: show us what it costs to run, divide that by monthly users who want to have a say in the future of the server, charge a membership fee that reflects those costs and a little cushion for the future. Having a token fee per account also discourages bots.

Potato and dairy can get you suprisingly close. Nutrition is complex and full of unknowns, and like don’t actually do that, but it’s nutritionally not far off on paper.

This thing needs a 50% price cut, roomscale support, and a couple of years of software ecosystem before it makes any sense to own one. There’s some very fucking cool hardware in there, but the fact that Apple doesn’t have hardware to send devs is a pretty big red flag that this isn’t ready yet.
