Russia needs to stop? How about we need to stop fueling proxy wars? Why does he phrase it like this?

In the next sentence after he says Ukraine, he says that NATO needs to stop expanding. So it would seem to me that he is placing blame on NATO.

C-span does this same call-in show every morning, 7 days a week. The callers behave like this pretty much every day.

I don't watch it every day but it's a guilty pleasure. Hearing the unhinged beliefs of many Americans is sometimes entertaining.

I posted the video because I liked what the guy had to say and also I think American hogs are silly. The juxtaposition between the anti-communist american hogs and the calm talking CPUSA guy is a funny.

I have seen a lot of posts on hexbear and other places which say that CPUSA is run by feds. I don't have a strong opinion about it myself.

Before accepting any callers, the show host asks the CPUSA Co-Chair if CPUSA endorses any candidate for president. He says that the CPUSA has never endorsed candidates from other political parties for president. So CPUSA is not endorsing Biden.

The first caller identifies politically as an independent. She starts by saying that she's never heard of the Communist Party of USA and she's afraid of communism. She asks why the communists want to take away her guns and then she says that we need to build a dome over America to protect America from climate change caused by China.

CPUSA Co-chair responds by saying that CPUSA doesn't want to take away your guns. He says that the US should stop shipping guns all around the world. He says that gang-related gun violence is related to the drug crisis which needs to be addressed. Then he says CPUSA is not a party of big government, that it is a party of helping working class people. He says "we don't need filthy rich people telling us how the country should be run". He says that corporations control the US media. He says that China wants a clean environment for their children.

The second caller identifies as a Republican. She says that her father was a dentist in Chicago and that she believes that communism would have prevent her father from inventing the "gold inlay" by imposing regulations on him.

CPUSA Co-chair responds by saying that the narrative that communists want to stifle innovation is a lie. Then he turns it around and says that McCarthyism restricted the rights of communist Americans. He says that if we look at history, it is the Americans who oppressed Communists and not that Communists have oppressed Americans.

The third caller identifies as an independent. He asks how CPUSA is funded. He implies that CPUSA is funded by the "Communist party of Russia".

CPUSA Co-chair responds by saying that CPUSA doesn't receive funding by foreign government or foreign corporation unlike other candidates of other American political parties. I think he may be referencing AIPAC. He says that CPUSA is funded by donations from working class people.

In 2023, Rob Schneider produced an "antiwoke" stand up special for Fox News called "Woke Up in America". I watched it because it seemed very silly that a standup comedy special was made for Fox News. It was the worst standup comedy show that I've ever seen.

Rob Schneider has been right wing for a while. I remember seeing a clip of him making fun of homeless people on Fox News as a commentator for Fox news.

The main reason that you don't need an "antivirus software" on GNU/Linux is that software is treated in a fundamentally different way. On windows, it is pretty common for people to download exe files from random website and run them. On GNU/Linux, you should not being running random executables that you found on the internet. The majority of the software that you use should be installed from your distro repository.

If you are very concerned about security, you can use a security auditing tool like Lynis. Lynis is a tool that I have used before. You run it and it makes a checklist of things that you can do to improve the security of your GNU/Linux system. It will probably tell you to set up an Intrusion Detection System like TripWire. It might recommend you to do something like having your system files on a separate partition and booting your system partition as read only when you use your computer normally. Most people don't do all these things, but Lynis will tell you what is possible and you can decide what meets your security needs. Lynis is probably in your distro repository.

This is a pretty good checklist of security practices for a GNU/Linux desktop system.

As someone who grew up in the southern US, kids are told to be anti-abortion by the Christian churches. There's lots of churches that have youth services and after-school programs. They entice kids from 13-18 to attend with promises of free food and access to sports equipment. Many teens choose to attend the churches because they have bad home life or by peer pressure. Then the churches tell the teens that all sex before marriage is sinful, that being LGBT is wrong, and that abortion is murder.

Hamas was calling for a ceasefire in October. In November, the Brandon Regime invented the term "humanitarian pause" because they would not even says the word ceasefire.

It is so absurd that Biden says that Hamas doesn't want a ceasefire when he wouldn't even say that word ceasefire for several months after Israel began bombing Gaza.

Van Jones gave a speech as a pro-Israel rally last November. He said we need to stop bombing the children of Gaza and the crowd booed him and started chanting "no ceasefire". This guy does not know his audience.

I am thinking the video is age restricted because it shows lots of fist fighting scenes. Also there is a story about a waffle house worker being shot and killed, no footage of the shooting.

The Chinese military on Saturday said it expelled U.S. guided-missile destroyer USS Hopper after it illegally trespassed into Chinese territorial waters off the Xisha Islands in the South China Sea.

The People's Liberation Army (PLA) Southern Theater Command has deployed its naval and air forces to "track, monitor and warn away" the vessel, said Senior Colonel Tian Junli, the spokesperson of the theater command, in a statement.

According to Tian, the U.S. has "severely jeopardized China's sovereignty and security," and the illegal entry serves as "ironclad evidence" of Washington's pursuit of "navigation hegemony" and "militarization of the South China Sea."

The spokesperson added that the theater command will maintain a high alert status and take all necessary measures to resolutely safeguard national sovereignty, security, and the peace and stability of the region.

Israel's Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi submitted a proposal to take action against Haaretz by ending the publication of government notices in Haaretz.

Karhi, a member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party, said the newspaper was "sabotaging Israel in wartime" and was an "inflammatory mouthpiece for Israel’s enemies."

Haaretz publisher Amos Schocken responded to Karhi’s proposal by saying, “If the government wants to close Haaretz, that’s the time to read Haaretz.”

Karhi's proposal, which would forbid the publication of official government notices in Haaretz, and would cancel all state employee Haaretz subscriptions – including those held by members of the IDF, the police, the prison service, government ministries and government companies

Israel's government voted on Wednesday to back a deal for Palestinian Hamas militants to free 50 women and children held as hostages in Gaza in exchange for a four-day pause in fighting

Officials from Qatar, which has been mediating negotiations, as well as the U.S., Israel and Hamas have for days been saying a deal was imminent.

Ahead of the announcement of the deal, Netanyahu said the intervention of U.S. President Joe Biden had helped to improve the tentative agreement so that it included more hostages and fewer concessions.

"We are at war and we will continue the war until we achieve all our goals. To destroy Hamas, return all our hostages and ensure that no entity in Gaza can threaten Israel," Netanyahu said in a recorded message at the start of the government meeting.

A U.S. official briefed on the discussions said ahead of the deal that it would include the exchange of 150 Palestinian prisoners.

The pause would also allow for humanitarian aid into Gaza.
