Just because it's topical, I'm going to plug one of my favorite books I've read this year. How to Hide an Empire: A History of the Greater United States, by Daniel Immerwahr. It tells the history of western expansion, bird shit, the Philippines, stop signs, and US military bases.

I know it goes against everything everyone on lemmy says, but a Google Home Hub. You pick which Google Photos albums you want to have displayed on the screen, and any time you add any pictures to the album, they're immediately in the rotation. Bonus points, once you've set it up, everything can be done remotely. It also has a physical mic-off switch.

I know nothing about the dude on the far right

Can't tell you anything about the character, but that's Leoben Conoy/Number Two. I guess this time around, the river of time pulled him into a different franchise.

Daphne Zuniga already has experience playing a Drewish princess, so she might be a good fit.

Have you tried emailing the authors? It's well known that some folks will gladly respond with a copy of the paper at no charge.

... does this person live in the same universe as I do? I had a comment deleted from .world for calling out someone for being racist, but the racist comment is still up.
