Yes this isn't a new thing. Weeks ago I read a headline talking re a Microsoft ad in the Windows lock screen. I didn't have ads in my lock screen but I can imagine the annoyance for those who had ads.

Windows 11 didn't enable Onedrive in my Documents, Pictures and others. I've used local storage since I bought my πŸ’». I hope Windows 11 won't suddenly enable Onedrive. Folks will riot if they'll do such a πŸ’© act.

Windows 11 repeatedly promoting Edge, Onedrive and Phone link annoyed me. There must be a "Don't remind me again." checkbox.

Firefox has been reliable. Brave seems πŸ‘. I haven't wanted Edge as my main.

I already have a Onedrive account. It was reliable.

I haven't wanted to use Phone link.

I already have a Onedrive account. It was reliable. I haven't needed the Onedrive system tray icon. I just went to onedrive.com. On the other hand, I've had the Dropbox system tray icon.

I haven't wanted to use Phone link.

I need a nonprofessional driver's license. I need a student driver's permit 1st right? 1 of the requirements for a student driver's permit is a certificate of completion of the Theoretical driving course. I've known someone who can drive and has had a license. I asked Grok 3 if I could ask him to teach me instead of going to a driving school. Per Grok 3, the certificate from the driving school is needed. Correct?

From reading the requirements, what naturally comes to mind is just go to a driving school. I'm just wondering if I can save β‚± by not going to a school.

It's not a recent flick but I just wanna share my review –

I finished it minutes ago. The 1st 20 min are so boring. Here are what spurred me to finish it.

  1. Spielberg directed it.
  2. It was loosely based on his childhood.

The post, Bridge of spies and Saving Private Ryan's opening are πŸ‘ so I hoped The Fabelmans was πŸ‘ too. It was entertaining but not great. OK plot.

πŸ‘ acting. I can write about 3 paragraphs re the top cast's acting but I don't wanna make this too long. I'll just highlight Sam Rechner, who didn't play the cliched bully. It seemed Logan Hall had an internal issue. Bullying, having that high school quarterback aura, then his conscience tapping him due to his bullying, then getting upset; it can easily get cringe. But Rechner's acting wasn't cringe. Great job.

When Chatgpt 1st shook the tech world, I said thanks and please. Then at some point I stopped. I've just wanted to enter my prompt very fast. Grok 3 and Claude 3.7 sonnet (extended thinking) have been my go-to llm but when in a hurry, I just use the Gemini voice assistant or Meta ai – I have the Messenger app.

Me too. If Chatgpt is like this, it won't be as controversial as Google's glue pizza.

Saw this just now. Don't have many memories re my April 13. On April 10 my tummy was extremely painful and I puked. Diarrhea, I think. I took loperamide. I rested on the succeeding days, including 13. On 15 I was πŸ’―. No more pain.

On another note, the past few days were OK. Hot weather but I endured. I oft thought re πŸ‘ food and drinks. Those were some of the stuff that made me :).

Found your 5-month-old comment by searching zero dark thirty on Lemmy.

It showed that torture didn't work. Ammar didn't say crucial info after the waterboarding and during the πŸ• collar torture. Faraj didn't say crucial info after the waterboarding.

Torture is πŸ‘Ž.

I viewed 0 dark 30 twice minimum. Great direction and acting.

Jessica – Jennifer Ehle – seemed dumb when she met the al-Qaeda πŸ‘¨β€βš•οΈ. I think no Cia person is that dumb.

Lately I viewed Close encounters of the 3rd kind. Hasn't been my cup of tea. Boring plot.

But I've liked the time dilation aspect. The previously missing didn't age. Maybe their velocity was so high relative to Earth's velocity before landing on Earth. Maybe they were near a supermassive black hole. Maybe both?

It's a flick so maybe it was magic, not time dilation.

The Youtube channel @gsmarenaofficial has been πŸ‘. Concise reviews. His πŸ“± reviews have had thermal throttling which many reviewers have omitted. His πŸ“± reviews have had detailed cam discussions too.

Gsmarena has had text reviews too for folks who've liked those.

I visit these sometimes for tech stuff. Not text reviews but more like news –

  1. platformer.news
  2. spacebar.news
  3. wheresyoured.at
  4. theverge.com

Dave's been my fav πŸ’» Youtuber but this hasn't sat well with me. Many have relied on him for unbiased πŸ’» opinions and he made a πŸ’» ad. His ads shouldn't be re a πŸ’», tablet or a πŸ“±.

my go-to llm in no specific order –

  1. Llama 4 behemoth
  2. Grok 3
  3. Claude 3.7 sonnet (extended thinking)

What's your go-to?

When in a hurry, I just use the Gemini voice assistant or Meta ai – I have the Messenger app.

I fretted that the Bulls' win crushed the Lakers' morale. Seemed not. Doncic, Bron and Reaves cooked. What a luxury for the Lakers having someone who can score at will when badly needed – Doncic. Circus layups even when defended well. Long step-back 3s. Nba finals experience. He's young so he can improve greatly.

Edey played hard. Since the news that the Lakers looked for a πŸ‘ center before the trade deadline, I've appreciated πŸ‘ centers more. Adebayo, Edey, Gafford, Lively and others.

McDo latte (I ask for less ice) is πŸ‘. It’s sweetened already. But not all the branches have it.

Burger king’s salted caramel coffee is πŸ‘ too. I ask for less ice.

If you want Starbucks, their latte is πŸ‘. I ask for sugar and less ice.

I read that unsweetened latte or flat white is πŸ‘. I haven’t found an espresso shop that has πŸ‘ unsweetened latte or flat white. I may be so :) after tasting such a drink.

I’m not a veteran espresso drinker.

If 1 asks me re a great way to know re the Chernobyl disaster, I'll suggest this. 1 of my top series.

I asked myself "How about the Fukushima Daiichi disaster?" I had 3 ideas –

  1. I found an eli5 explainer using Google.

  2. Plainly difficult's vid (the best for me)

  3. The days

Plainly difficult's vid is more detailed than the eli5 explainer so if you're in no rush, please watch.

I was at the 20:00 mark of The days episode 4 when I stopped due to its slowness. It'd be better if it had 4 or 5 episodes instead of 8.

1 reason is that they want as much data as possible. They sell the user data. Or they use the user data to improve their targeted advertising. They want more ad clicks.

Re app versus site, many know how to block ads on browsers. With an app, the firm is hoping they can show you ads. Ads can be removed from some apps but the layperson doesn't know.

I read Feynman lectures on physics Volume 1 Chapter 37 for the 2nd time. It has the best explanation of the 2-slits experiment for me. 1 of the factors behind my <3 for physics is how amazing the universe is. The wave-particle duality is so amazing.

Chapters 1–36 aren't prequisites for Chapter 37. You can read 37 at once.

Posting here hoping for a physics-based reply.

I viewed a vid re power versus torque in vehicles. My understanding is that power is torque multiplied by angular velocity. Given an amount of power, a high-torque vehicle won't go very fast. A very fast vehicle won't tow a very massive load.

I related it to my little knowledge re stick shift. Gear 1 is used to move a stopped vehicle or for low speeds. Does gear 1 mean max torque and lowest angular velocity? I imagine you need a high torque to overcome static friction. Does gear 2 mean a dip in torque and a rise in angular velocity? Does the max gear mean lowest torque and max angular velocity? When I was young, a driver said one can carefully switch from gear 1 to 2 then 2 to 3 (and so on) on a wide road with very few surrounding vehicles. He said this was the way to increase the velocity and a high gear generally meant more fuel-efficient.

Please correct me if any of the above is wrong.

I googled. Here's what I read –

" 'Revolutions per minute' is how many revolutions the engine itself is making per minute. The gear ratios then translate revolutions of the engine into revolutions of your tires (more or less). Lower gear means lower tire revolutions per engine revolution, but also the tires are easier to turn.

"So when the car is going slower, meaning it requires more force to accelerate, you want lower gears. As the car speeds up, you need less force to go faster or maintain that speed, so you switch to a higher gear, sacrificing power for more efficient use of your engine."

I didn't ask an llm to avoid hallucinations.

He can post here and on another platform (like Instagram) so the users won't think of switching.

Your Sync is still πŸ‘ so I suggest staying.

My Voyager's been smooth. Also, I finally have the crosspost feature. Sync doesn't have it. I prefer Voyager's implementation of crosspost over the Lemmy site's implementation. By "Lemmy site" I mean going to lemmy.world on my πŸ’»'s browser.
