They are a pretty fun urban fantasy. Protagonist is a wizard that works as a "wizard for hire" like a private investigator, but as the story progresses the stakes keep getting bigger and bigger. Highly recommended, though beware that first 2 or so books are probably the weakest, though I enjoyed those too.

Thanks for the list, going to try check out all of them!

Edit: Just saw that Blood Meridian is by Cormac McCarthy, have heard of him a lot but haven't read anything yet, so might be a good place to start.

It's nice when author wraps up everything neatly. Will check it out!

Rothfuss is one of the reason I don't like to start unfinished series now 😀

I pretty much always prefer to go with the published order instead of chronological order, so I started with Icewind Dale, but The Dark Elf Trilogy is next one, if I remember it correctly. I am liking what I have read so far, so will probably continue the series, so it's good to hear that most of his books are pretty good.

Started The Bands of Mourning by Brandon Sanderson, 3rd book in the 2nd era of Mistborn.

It's fun to read the antics of Wayne. Probably the most fun character in the book.

What about all of you? What have you been reading or listening to lately?

That's nice to know. Had completely forgotten about it, will try to see if I can find local copies.

Ahan, interesting.

How is the overall series? I am still on the first series, Icewind Dale one, 2 books down, last one to go.

that first meeting with the Ragged Lady breaks my heart every time.

I have only read it once, but I can fully understand that. It was a pretty emotional moment.

what I really want is for the books to go for another chapter and let me see the family in the aftermath of the story

I always want this too! Love it when books give that closure about how their life went on.

Heh, that does seem so relevant to today's world. We are still worried about the same things, but the problem with this kind of prediction is, one day we might actually be right 😀

Personally, I keep all the updates for next week's post, but nothing wrong with making another top level post, or if it's related to your previous post, replying to it.

For instance, if your first comment is you finished a book, and then want to make a new comment about what you are starting, you can just make a new top-level comment. On the other hand, if you second comment is an update on the book mentioned in the first comment, then just reply to your post.

Just my suggestions, there is no rule for this, so do as you like :-)

Don't worry too much about Cosmere, most series can be read stand alone, and while he intends to write some series that will bring everything together, there isn't one yet, so for now just read the ones that you like and ignore what you don't.

Finished Cold Days by Jim Butcher! (The 14th book in Dresden Files series.)

It was a wild ride! We are back to world shattering problems and trying to stop them. Just finished the book so haven't finalised which one to start next, but thinking about reading the next Mistborn book, 3rd one in Wax and Wayne era. Let's see.

Bingo Squares: None.

They are basically two questions, but kind of related, so asking in same post

  1. What is the normal notice period in US when resigning? And is it an issue if a company is asking for more than couple of months of notice period?

  2. What is the legal value of non-compete clause in that agreement? That you will not work in the same industry for a set period of time after leaving the company. For example, if you are a software developer working at Netflix, you won't work on any other streaming service / application for set amount of time after quitting / leaving the job.

Still reading Cold Days by Jim Butcher, the 14th book in Dresden Files series.

Yet another busy week but things have started to settle down, got back to reading properly yesterday and have reached the point where we get some interesting reveals. Very excited about where it goes from here.

Had a busy week so couldn't get much reading done, about halfway through though.

Not Bullet Journal related, but found it interesting for those who want to start journaling but get overwhelmed by how to do it properly.

Started the next book in Jim Butcher's Dresden Files series, Cold Days

Since it's the 14th book in the series, I can't say much about it without spoiling what happened in the previous books, but things have become very interesting. Though, the more the things change, the more they stay the same, Harry is still out of his depth, and stakes are still sky high.

I am looking for a nice book light that can also last me a while. I have one by energizer, and while it's not bad, battery time isn't too great for my liking.

Any recommendations?

No link for AMA yet.

Finished What If? by Randall Munroe.

Highly recommended for people who like science, and fun.

Still reading What If? by Randall Munroe.

A very entertaining read, could've finished by now, but reading it slow so that I can understand some of the science. More than halfway through.
