It's suspicious that the criticism is in terms of miles traveled and the response is in terms of time. My own car operates flawlessly 98% of the time in a driverless mode called "park."

Looking at old defunct forums and blogs on the Wayback Machine, spam and security problems are frequently-cited reasons for shutting down or going read-only.
Over time, the internet has gotten more hostile.
People don't have data, they have blog posts, vacation photos, and text messages. Talking about personal data as an abstract thing leads to error.
It would be too too funny if it were really the case that a century of Kafka scholarship missed the point.
I haven't read any Kafka scholarship and I didn't even finish reading The Trial, but I can see the flattery and contradiction of being let in on a secret.
