we can't make custom color legends unfortunately

custom fonts can be used anywhere yes, you may click on the keys to edit the font

alright! you may want to customize this num row then don't you? also beware that some legends sometimes are too big for the key (Caps Lock / Backspace) so you'd want to fix that too

To edit your set to make those changes:

  • Go to your creations using this link, or by clicking the user icon in the top right
  • Click the set you want to edit
  • Click the “customize” button
  • Update the code in your comment

oh right, for sculpted profile we don't have yet a wide range of options, and the R4 1.75u key is not available yet

you can however make one on a flat profile, our only option atm is DSA

I've added the Keychron K2 (which I have coincidentally received yesterday to make some tests, and was just testing some keycaps on when I read your message haha)

Oh there was actually some confusion in the software with convex/concave options, thanks for pointing it out, I have fixed it now!

To celebrate the launch of c/emk on Lemmy, we have decided to give away a custom keycaps set to the new community's members!

How to participate?

  • Create your dream custom keycap set on fkcaps.com/custom (any profile/layout is allowed)
  • At the very last step called "Summary", click "Save for later" (or buy it, you'll be refunded if you win)
  • Copy the 6 characters code given, and paste it in a (top level) comment below

Requirements

  • Be a Lemmy community member
  • Have an account on FK (you will be prompted for your email when "saving for later")

We are looking forward to see the custom sets you'll come up with! If you have any questions or comments, let us know!

FAQ

  • How will you pick the winner?

We'll use an online randomizer altogether with obosob (community mod). First code pulled wins!

  • Can I make any layout or does it have to be ergo?

Any layout is can win this giveaway, but you know where our heart is!

  • Which keycap profile is allowed?

All keycap profiles are allowed. We currently have DSA, MDA, Cherry and MBK. If you have profile requests, submit a feature request

  • How many keys can I include in my custom layout?

There is no hard limit, but for the sake of it, let's say 200 keys max 😉
