I think a better selection of choices would have been:

  • My Apple Watch is capable of AOD and I use it
  • My Apple Watch is capable of AOD and I don't use it
  • My Apple Watch is not capable of AOD

The problem is caused by badly written apps. iOS (and iPadOS) has a very different memory management than Windows or macOS. There is no memory swapping to the "hard disk" and therefore if an app in the foreground needs memory every app in the background could be ended by the system at any time. That's why app developers should always implement saving everything automatically while the app is in the foreground or at least when it goes to the background. Switching to an automatically closed background app means reloading the saved state. This should be exactly the same state as the app was when it went to the background.

There are obviously bad apps that do not follow this requirement. These apps are your problem.

They will bring it back in 10.2. The current version is 10.1.1, so they didn't bringt it back yet.

It remains to be seen if RCS support really fulfills the EU requirements.

BTW, green bubble vs. blue bubble is not really a thing in the EU. As iMessage is indeed rarely used here, nobody will buy an iPhone because of it.

Finally. But still not on the Apple TV.

The only time I take my Apple Watch off is when I sleep or take a shower. But then I don't exercise.

Do still use 10.0? The weather complication problem should be fixed in the current version (10.1.1).

I think you are pretty alone with that opinion. The new grid mixes the advantages of the old grid and the list view: You can scroll with the crown through all apps and sort them manually.

Only a small amount of users were affected by the problem. And that was fixed for them with 10.1.1.

I use double pinch mainly for opening and scrolling through widgets and for scrolling and closing push messages. Works great and made the usage of widgets even better.

What you are missing is the color setting above the style setting. First select a color and then you will see the differences of the styles.

Do you have watchOS 10.1.1? If not, do the update. Otherwise just restart the watch.
