In addition to Rose and [Shoeless Joe] Jackson, the other deceased players that were reinstated by MLB are Eddie Cicotte, Happy Felsch, Chick Gandil, Fred McMullin, Swede Risberg, Buck Weaver, Lefty Williams, Joe Gedeon, Gene Paulette, Benny Kauff, Lee Magee, Phil Douglas, Cozy Dolan, Jimmy O'Connell and William Cox.

A bit off topic but this is like a who's who of goofy baseball names. Baseball's missing its quirky first/nick names nowadays

The Yankees became the first team to hit three straight home runs to begin a game twice in the same season. The first time occurred one month ago the the day!

Crochet will make $3.8 million in his final year of arbitration-eligibility this season before the extension kicks in at the start of 2026. The six-year deal runs through 2031 and includes an opt-out after 2030.

Maybe that's the idea. Like how misprinted baseball cards are worth a ton later on. I can't imagine anyone would wear these for real

It's official, the 2025 Season of Pain has begun.

I'm in the same boat. YES is wrapped up in an extra special sports package too so it's not just a cable bill, it's their most expensive all-the-channels-included package. Total waste for me.

I misremembered, it was a DHL commercial! Here you go:

This means we only have one more year of suffering! Hopefully this doesn't end with more nationally televised games, spread across a gaggle of streaming apps. I just want to hate watch my Yankees with the regular YES crew in peace.

Remember that ESPN commercial where he ripped the beard off and handed it to someone else? Classic.

Wild. That's a crazy amount of money to decline. Looks like he thinks he's worth top dollar AAV though

Do we know what the Astros offered to extend him?

CC was already a HoFer in my heart. Didn't know his stats stacked up so well against other lefty starters already in the hall though. Don't think we'll see another 3k strikeout pitcher for a while, if ever.

The $360M Man forgot that the season continues past 162 if your team keeps winning. Tough to win when you have a 6'7" hole in the 3-hole of your lineup.

Boone lost Game 1, then conceded the rest by staying with a broken lineup. He needs to go. If you can't have a hard conversation with your highest paid player when he's not performing, you shouldn't be managing a major league team.

Congrats Dodgers fans. I hope Ohtani heals up and you get to see him win a Cy Young next year.
