potential invasion

Why do we still pretend China won't do exactly what they have repeatedly told us they will do?

Fortunately, a link is provided:

https://amprog.org/cpr

And from that:

Corporations are pure creatures of state law. And for more than two centuries, the Supreme Court has affirmed that states have virtually unlimited authority to modify and withdraw the powers they grant to their corporations.

This report explains how every state can use that authority to remove corporate and dark money from its local, state, and federal politics.

Notably, corporations are not just creatures of law; they are creatures of state law. And the states that create them have full authority to decide what powers they do and do not possess.

And so on. Unsurprisingly, it is not anything earth-shattering. They propose a legal strategy to unmake Citizens United, the feasibility of which I am not qualified to analyze. They are piloting this strategy in Montana.

In essence, they seem to be saying: States made corporations, they can damn well un- (and re-) make corporations.
