I know there is Loops, but it's not open source or federated yet, so it's not really an option.

I mean the arguments themselves were fairly cogent, all things considered. The prosecution got grilled pretty damn hard too.

When the two sides did reach an agreement in November, that money was moved over to the fire department’s pot, according to Mr. Blumenfield’s office, meaning this year’s fire budget is actually $53 million more than last year.

Weird way to cut a budget

Because the app store isn't the only way to install an app. It is trivially easy to side load apps and it's well within the technologic skillset of the average 12 year old.

They've set it up so it's a legal mess. The platforms aren't given any mechanism to actually perform verifications (no double blind id system, for example) but are legally on the hook for each and every under-16 on the platforms. A quote in the article suggests it should be the app stores verifying which is even more fucking stupid.

EU health and obesity rates have way more to do with urbanism than diet and health outcomes compared to the USA is such a useless comparison. America's trying to kill you off the moment you get sick. Pay or die: yeah no wonder it's such a shit show.

And the EU allows food that we don't in ours, like Cyclamate. Raw milk and unwashed eggs are all perfectly legal too.

They're not perfect.
