A 16 or 17 year-old earning 90$/day shouldn't pay ANY tax IMHO. As a teenager I and my classmates weren't using roads, the hospital system, the courts, or most of the facilities that public funds go towards anywhere near the extent that we use them as adults. I hope I can pay it all forward when I get a full time gig given how much public money I've been directly involved in spending.

Edit: I will add that even if your child isn't in a romantic or sexual relationship, they can still learn from meaningful relationships with their friends and from their relationship with their parents. Provided they have good friends (and parents, no pressure) they'll turn out ok, and they'll learn that there are worse things than being single.
The Idaho Stop is not the same as running a red. I've been riding all my life and riding on the road since I was 12. You shouldn't run red lights; it's unpredictable and just downright dangerous if you do it at the wrong intersection.

I also strongly agree with you that he fights the good fight and he fights it well.
There need to be alternative modes of transport that are accessible so that elderly and incompetent drivers aren't forced to engage in society via the roads.
😆 Western Australians wish Perth was the capital. At least you know your Australian cities
