@otter yeah that back-to-back flooding is what I wanted to avoid. Plus it'd be nice if the images are associated with each other on the platform, hence thinking about collections. But tbh I don't have any idea how collections show up.

My other hope is to avoid duplication by posting the same images multiple times on different platforms. I *think* I've seen that mentioning a Lemmy Community will cause a post to be shared to Lemmy? Possibly only with the "cover" image showing up to Lemmy users?

@MHLoppy you could always join pixelfed.au!

@brisbot A building near me has had its fire alarm going since about noon yesterday. Three short high-pitched blasts in quick succession, followed by a brief ~1 second pause. *Non-stop*. Even with windows closed I can still hear it. And I am going fucking *crazy*.

@Nath never been myself. Never really desired to. Driven past one a few times, but there are only a handful of them in Brisbane, way out in the boonies. I'd rather go to my local GYG.

@No1 it's a shame the debates are limited to only Labor and the LNP. At the last election, 1 in 3 Aussies voted third party or independent, so it would have been good to have more viewpoints represented. That's why there were calls on social media yesterday for #IncludeAdam.

@wildwhitehorses I doubt any state has ever had a leader worse than Joh Bjelke-Petersen.

@trk
> Good thing we have Liberals in power now who are on the side of small business

It's a BCC project. Liberals have been in power since its inception.

@brisbane It's supposed to be winter!! (Or at least, was just yesterday.) Darn weather was up over 30 degrees.

Run's 24.1 km total, took about 2:10 of running time, plus a fair few pauses to make sure I was still on track.

@ada wow that's stunning! Way better than any of the shots I got.

Queensland Government promises to build yet another (probably tolled) fucking car tunnel. @brisbane

Fuck this makes me **so** angry. We KNOW this doesn't work. You want to solve congestion, road diet the existing roads. Build good bike infrastructure. Build good public transport. How does this happen with a single off-the-cuff announcement when *months* of back-and-forth debate over public transport network with the NWTC went *nowhere*.

Foggy Brisbane last Thursday night!

UQ students standing in solidarity with Palestine

UQ has a very strong relationship with US weapons manufacturer Boeing. Students are protesting this relationship, as well as showing general support for Palestinians, by staging a camp-in on campus.

Some photos I took of the camp as I walked past them this morning.

A clever solution to BCC's cowardice

BCC has been repeatedly removing ghost bikes from a site on Nudgee Rd after a cyclist died at the location last year, despite years of warning from cycling advocates that improved infrastructure was needed in the area. To stop them from removing the ghost bikes, highlighting the blood on BCC's hands, *and* highlighting the absurdity of how storing private property on public land is completely ok if it's a car, someone installed this ghost trailer.
