Since the topic is "fuck" in Christmas songs.. for as long as i can remember, I thought Brenda Lee was singing "later we'll have some fuckin pie" as she rocked around the Christmas tree.

I fucking loved Corel, I've never really found an adequate replacement for it. Guess I'll be giving InkScape a try, thanks

There aren't too many actors that will pull my interest just based on their involvement. Sam Rockwell, Gary Oldman and Philip Seymour Hoffman (RIP) are the first that come to mind but I'm sure there are more. Does Tom Waites count?

The ancient drawing was by a caveman trying to convince his caveman bros that he could totally take a polar bear.

Not that I've traveled all over the US, but I've never heard the term "chippy" used that way here. Where is it used?

Among many other misattributed MP3s I downloaded off LimeWire, I remember downloading an mp3 of a "new leaked Nine Inch Nails song" called "Digital" that even had an intro read by a some DJ on a radio station (supposedly).

It ended up not being Nine Inch Nails, but I loved the song anyway, and had no idea what it was until a decade later when I found it again online. Still fuckin rocks too:

Boom Boom Satellites - Push Eject

I also remember a Tetris Theme remix by Aphex Twin that was very much not Aphex Twin.

I also remember downloading the Aphex Twin remix of Beck's "Devil's Haircut"and the remix was so bad I thought it had to be fake (it's not).

How about 512 floppy drives, 16 hard drives and 4 scanners?

A cellphone shot of the gorgeous aurora tonight. It wasn't quite this dramatic to the naked eye, but this is actually pretty representative of what we could see. I have a bunch of other pics too but I'm sure there will be pics everywhere tomorrow from better photographers.

If you've never seen cannabonsai before, check this guy's channel out. Even if you don't grow yourself, the process is fascinating and the results are gorgeous!

"PORTLAND, Ore. — Multnomah County is investigating a second suspected heat death as a heat wave continues to push temperatures into the triple-digit range.

A Portland-area hospital reported the death Tuesday when temperatures in the city soared to 102. The county did not specify how the person arrived at the hospital.

This is the second suspected heat death related to the mid-August heat wave. The first involved a person found dead in Southeast Portland on Monday. The county medical examiner’s office is working to confirm whether the cause of both deaths was heat-related.

Multnomah County has opened cooling shelters over the past few days, and also ramped up outreach to seniors and other vulnerable people who may not have air conditioning. A spokesperson said those groups have been at most risk in recent heat events - like the 2021 heat dome."

Portland, Oregon's freeway network is only a fraction of what was originally planned. This documentary takes a look at three proposed freeways that were nearly built, the neighborhood revolts that led to their cancellation, and remnants of these projects that are still visible today.

This YouTuber does a whole series of these short documentaries on Oregon history that are just great

She was started late, grown outdoors & I grudgingly had to chop her early. She’s the only plant I’ve grown that had jet black leaves, and the contrast with the bright green buds was just neat.
