Plumbing the depths of Tubi, among its Recently Added section I spotted this US/France action-adventure series.
A multinational team of spies (the Hemisphere Emergency Action Team, a.k.a. H.E.A.T.) fight global terrorism by... working undercover as a swimwear company in Puerto Vallarta (I mean, not even Acapulco 😁) which is, like, totally not a thinly-veiled excuse for regularly parading scantily-clad young hotties on screen.
The team's led by Catherine Oxenberg from Dynasty as a feisty aristo formerly of MI6, and CIA guy Brendan Kelly, who brings all the interesting character traits of a cube of plain tofu.
The team is rounded out by assorted real-life models (including an actual Playboy Playmate) and they take orders over video calls from "C5" boss John Vernon, barely bothering to pretend he's not just reading off cue cards.
Bonus: mononymous 90s romance model Fabio shows up (!) as manager of the luxury resort hotel that their swimwear company works out of and under which they have an ancient Mayan Batcave for their anti-terrorism operations. ("Mayans? ... In Puerto Vallarta???")
And which is, like, totally not a thinly-veiled promotional exercise for the resort, like the movie Day of the Assassin (the #MondayActionMovie on 11th August).
The team take on missions to defeat terrorist plots in exotic locations throughout the Americas which all somehow look like Mexico with set dressing, full of Mexicans wearing other countries' "national costumes".
They do also set much of the action in Mexico itself, leading to great lines like "There's a bomb in one of those piñatas!" 🤣
And, although not great, we do get action: chases, shootouts, explosions, some hand-to-hand, and even individually-targeted mini-rockets!
I've only seen the two-part-premiere so far, and it's fine if you're fine with watching some mindless action and PYTs in swimsuits on a lazy afternoon.
Tubi Mexico has only Season 1 ATM, but IMDb seems to indicate Tubi US has also the second season, which was retooled & recast for a lower budget. (Never a good sign.)
The video quality is poor, 360p, and the sound mixing at times terrible.

I knew Chuck Norris had done Cannon movies. I knew Louis Gossett Jr had done Cannon movies. Somehow I missed they had done a Cannon movie together, let alone a buddy action comedy. Chuck isn't great at comic delivery, but he tries.
Also has Melody Anderson (Flash Gordon), Sonny Landham (Predator, 48 Hrs), John Rhys-Davies (in a further nod to Raiders), Ian Abercrombie (Army of Darkness), and Will Sampson (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest).
At one point, a desert scene reminded me of Ice Cold in Alex... and I find out J. Lee Thompson also directed that, and Guns of Navarone, and the original Cape Fear, too!
Not a great film, but enough fun if you give it a chance.

There's an ancient, murderous demon that possesses human beings, turning their eyes black, and transfers into another nearby living person when its host is killed, and Dolph Lundgren has to hunt it down before it ends the world even while nobody believes him, and... hey, wait a minute! Dolph is a priest and a modern day Knight Templar, here to save souls and kick ass... and he's all outta souls! He saves a pretty Mohawk archaeologist and together they go on the run from the titular Minion who's out to get the key they uncovered to unlock his evil master and the end of the world in time for the new millennium.
Like with Don't Kill It, I was expecting something truly atrocious but got something substantially better than that (although not quite on the same level as DKI).

It's amazing how much money you can save on your movie shoot by having your hero wear a helmet that obscures their face and allows you to film an entire scene with a much cheaper stuntman!
I missed it myself because that's when the washing machine repairman finally arrived.
Just watched it.
The plot, the acting, the effects, the pacing... none of them were anywhere near as bad as I was expecting. They were often downright good. Is this movie... kind of great???

Someone in the watch party said their local cinema in 1986 showed BTiLC and Highlander (also from 20th Century Fox) in a double bill all summer, didn't say which came second.
