Picard is a real quote machine. The one closest to my heart is:

Captain Jean-Luc Picard : There's no greater challenge than the study of philosophy.

Wesley Crusher : But William James won't be on my Starfleet exams.

Captain Jean-Luc Picard : The important things never will be. Anyone can be trained in the mechanics of piloting a starship.

Wesley Crusher : And Starfleet Academy...

Captain Jean-Luc Picard : Takes more. Open your mind to the past - art, history, philosophy. And all this may mean something.

Yeah I liked it. I got a bit motion sickness but not too bad.

Agree. I almost exclusively drink from tap. Bottled water is a waste of money. Boiled water is for tea.

I think some local context is worth it (I'm Swedish). This is a result of the fairly new parliamentary coalition in Sweden between the right wing conservatives and the fascist party. The position of the fascists range from that climate change is a hoax to climate policy doesn't work. The conservatives have generally just used nuclear power as a copout so they won't have to acknowledge that they lack any climate policy. They also have several open climate change deniers in parliament.

Since they took power, they've been shutting down project after project, budget after budget relating to climate policy (edit: especially when to comes to solar and wind power, and deforestation), especially after completely shutting down the department for environmental policy. So my guess is that this is mostly a way to cancel the old plan to make Sweden fossil free.

How much do you know about how a pack of bacon ends up in your fridge?

I'm good with most kinds of oat milk (and I live in a country where there are plenty). My wife, who's much more of a coffee snob, only drinks Oatly's dedicated coffee milk (which is probably called Oatly Barista where you live).

I just wanted to try Lemmy and this instance was recommended to my by my tech friends. I haven't coded since high school (the closest I get is a couple of hours of trying SQL). I work in accounting, live in southern Stockholm, Sweden, union activist in my local syndicalist union, member of my local masorti synagogue. I'm in charge of internet security and other IT related issues on my firm, but that's because we're small and I'm the least bad on the position. I'm still struggling to get people to move over to password managers (yeah some co-workers still reuse passwords). After that, my plan is to push for 2FA where it's possible (though we already have it on our most crucial system).
