This is actually great. Thanks for the link. I’m gonna look into this.

2 months ago I couldn’t imagine by a long shot I’d be anywhere near even considering something like this.

I don’t think the majority of Americans are going to support a Canada invasion. Plus they’re already moving into a recession. Starting a war would drive them beyond a recession into a Great Depression.

He would have to convince Americans that his economic mess is somehow Canadas fault. And he’s such a bullshit mouth with gullible idiot MAGAts he might just be able to do that.

“Canadians must recognize that the luxury of assuming our security is someone else’s responsibility is over…. We must be prepared to defend our sovereignty — not just with military spending, but with a population that is engaged, trained and ready.”

“Pause for a moment and imagine the skills or time you could bring — whether it’s first aid, co-ordination and logistics, communications, engineering, IT support, counselling and caregiving or any other expertise — to contribute to our collective security and resilience if called upon.”

“Today, we face a different but no less serious threat — cyberwarfare, disinformation, economic destabilization and geopolitical conflict over the Arctic. Just as Canada prepared for nuclear fallout in the 1960s, we must prepare for the crises ahead.”

“Every adult is expected to have the knowledge and basic skills to help in an emergency — whether that’s first aid, defending critical infrastructure or organizing local response teams.”

“Here’s what it could look like in Canada:”

Americans don’t think Canada or Mexico is a thing to care about at all. Too uneducated and poor to be bothered.

[–] lineofkings@lemmy.ca 1 points 9 months ago

I didn’t fully understand either tbh. I do know she is extraordinary insightful when it comes to issues on the other continent.

I know for sure they DGAF about Trump tariffs destroying other countries, but do average Americans care about destruction of their own country, or the undeniable fact that Trump is compromised with Russia?

[–] lineofkings@lemmy.ca 7 points 9 months ago

Wow this is epic!!!! Thanks for sharing. Every Canadian needs to step up with this stuff.

Does the world not know (or care) that Trump is renegading on trade agreements and trying to economically destroy Canada?

[–] lineofkings@lemmy.ca 16 points 9 months ago

Exactly they’re repopulating themselves like cancer. On socials they’re regurgitating MAGA/Trump bs talking points. It’s the American culture at this point to do hostile takeovers. They’ve always been this way. We just never thought it would happen to us.

What training do you suggest?

In fairness to MAGAts, the only info they are getting is Russian propaganda through Trumps mouth.

I thought the reason for trashing trade agreements and taking a wrecking ball to the Canadian economy with extreme tariffs was because of fentanyl coming from Canada at the border?

Apparently not, says Trump, from his speech at Congress tonight: “... Tariffs are about making America rich again and making America great again”.

By his own words, he has just shown his big lie.
