I thought it would be in a movie too, but the closest I found was a tv documentary https://blogs.chapman.edu/huell-howser-archives/1999/01/08/trestle-californias-gold-1006/

The trestle part starts at around 19:00.

Is anyone else seeing double posts / comments?

I see a few every now and then, mostly from lemmy.world, but a few from other instances. Is this a problem on our side or theirs?

We've got an election coming up in 16 months in the US. So I imagine we'll see a lot of bots registering soon.

It appears to be en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goat_Canyon_Trestle , so 1933. Map

Edit: I'm not a bot, I just talk like one.

Totally.

There was a former reddit mod on here a few days ago talking about how a small percentage of users make most of the posts/comments there. Personally, I'm glad to get away from that.

There may not be much content here, but at least the average person can be heard.

Nice! Looking forward to the next Unigine benchmark.

I'm new here just like most other folks, but from what I've seen so far is: Lemmy is a place to post links to your content, Peertube is the place to post your videos, Pixelfed is the place to post GIFs and short videos. Lemmy can handle picture uploads, but not much more than that right now.

But none of these instances is going to survive if users don't donate. All those corporate social media sites were free because you weren't the customer, you were the product.

We've a got higher share than Win 7 & 8, closing in on OSX. One step at a time.

Yep, type server's home URL + /instances and it should show every instance that they follow or block.

for example, it would be https://vlemmy.net/instances for this one.

There's no hate like Linux on Linux hate.

Jerry Springer meme - user attacked for installing ubuntu on a steam deck

This thing came with Windows 7 when I bought it and was barely able to run that. Somehow it seems to have gotten even slower over the years.

The Bulldozer era CPU was so bad, I decided to buy an Intel i5 desktop and ended up missing out on the first 2 generations of Ryzen.😡

It's an older phone, the display isn't big enough to show the whole output in landscape or portrait.

For everything you've always wanted to know about Lemmy but were afraid to make a post for.

I'm trying to subscribe to https://lemmy.world/c/mst3k and https://feddit.de/c/raspberrypi , but I can't seem to subscribe to anything outside of vlemmy, lemmy.ml and beehaw.

I tried using the method in the "How to Join Lemmy" post, and the instructions on the page (ie. copy and paste "!mst3k@lemmy.world" in the search)

Am I doing it wrong, or is some type of server thing? I don't know how any of this works
