I'm sure he's reading this thread itself. Liberals seething about our posts is a badge of honour, I can't wait to get on the screenshots. 
I don't let the cats on the kitchen table if I'm there, since I don't want the cats eating my food... Especially since there is no guarantee that whatever I'm eating is safe for a cat to eat. And also, our cats are very very fluffy, which means they shed fur everywhere. I don't want cat fur in my food. I don't care if cats go on the other tables, but I take them off the kitchen table whenever try to get onto it.
That being said, we absolutely allow the cats in our beds. It is so nice laying down next to a fluffy little animal that trusts you. I don't know why anyone would want to miss out on that.

It's not even just the politics/news discussion. I remember lemmy.ml being a pleasant site to discuss non-political topics (mostly nerd stuff, but still), despite the presence of obnoxious liberals. Now that it's overrun by redditors, it's... much lower quality? Or just plainly annoying? Or maybe it's just that I know that it all is being posted by obnoxious westerners? I can't quite put into words what exactly is bothering me, but it definitely is. I usually browse by local now instead of by all.
The quoted post (the one at the bottom of the screenshot) just... doesn't sound right. Any sources for the claims? Gay rights? I know homosexuality was legal (or at least, not illegal) for a while. But asides from that? Gender corrective surgery, in the 1920s? How would you even say "queer liberation" in Russian, isn't that a term that emerged in 1960s USA? I don't think USSR even existed under Lenin "for more than a decade", considering that the Revolution was in 1917 and Lenin passed away in 1924...
Sincere question. If any of what the quoted post says is true, please educate me about it.
The post at the top of the screenshot is also wrong, and there is a place for queers in Marxism. I just don't think anyone is helped by pretending historic examples of socialism were better with regards to these issues than they really were. I think the correct thing to do is to acknowledge where they were lacked and to learn from it for the future.
