Not me, Sir, I voted for her despite all my complaints.

Literally with that name. 😍

If they'd lost in 2020 the Trump nightmare would be ending in a couple months instead of beginning anew.

Yes you should have voted for Kamala and yes it's the Democrats at fault. Both are true.

Then surely your message has been received.

You don't really have to take my word for it, there have been articles about her courting Republicans for weeks. You are free to disagree, but she very explicitly did do so. The article I linked in the comment you replied to gives specific examples, but your search engine of choice will find numerous articles listing the ways in which she did so, often with video. It's not like it's some tinfoil hat thing, it was her very obvious strategy.

Sorry, I forgot I have to preface every criticism with "I voted for Harris, but"

[–] octopus_ink@lemmy.ml 14 points 6 months ago (2 children)

You’re fucking complicit.

No my dude, I voted for her. I don't agree with the decision from those who didn't vote or voted elsewhere.

But I understand. /ChrisRock

There's plenty of blame to go around. One thing a politician needs to do is effectively sell themselves to the people who will be voting. Harris spent a lot of time selling herself to Republicans.

The people who voted for the fascists were always going to vote for the fascists.

I have no need or desire to argue with you about it. There is no end to people smarter and more eloquent than I who are explaining the exact same thing in more detail than I could, from Bernie Sanders to Rolling Stone.

Speaking only for myself - sure - until she abandoned all progressive stances and sprinted for the right, then allowed a Cheney (and other Republicans) to speak at the DNC while also refusing to give even a minute of podium time to anyone with a pro-Palestine viewpoint.

She turned right the moment she announced the candidacy and just kept moving further and further, as if somehow 1) All D votes were in the bag so it didn't matter if they were pissed and also 2) R was going to give any D candidate the time of day.

Didn't work out so well. It turns out that trying to become the watered down version of your opponent doesn't win a lot of good favor among the folks who put you in that position in the first place.

No argument here!

Hey you got what you wanted, and you got to post a lengthy manifesto about it. I don't feel obligated to give you more of my time than I already have.

I have an FC660C which I love, and really has been my endgame board. I have literally not bought another keyboard since picking this up however many years ago. (Well, technically not true, but the only thing I bought after that was an FC980C to use at work, and that was because I wanted something as nice as the 660C to use while I was there.)

However, it hasn't been thoroughly cleaned in all the time I've owned it. I've taken most of the caps off and cleaned under them a couple times, and I've opened the bottom of the case once or twice, but I haven't done a full disassembly, haven't even considered lube, haven't pulled caps for the stabilizer keys, etc.

Some things are getting a little squeaky, and I really want to give it a deep clean. (and maybe a lube)

My fears are: Screwing up the stabilizers (I have fully disassembled a couple cherry MX boards before, but I'm not clear how different or more delicate this is likely to be, and it's been awhile), and screwing up/losing all (or any of) those little springs and the domes.

I've checked out a few videos over the years, but am still just a little nervous about doing it.

Can anyone who has done it convince me it's not that bad, or warn me away from trying? 😁

Bonus question: If I end up in there anyway, any recommended extra steps to take?

Police in a majority-Black Mississippi city discriminate against Black people, use excessive force and retaliate against critics, the Justice Department said Thursday in a scathing report detailing findings of an investigation into civil rights abuses.

The Lexington Police Department “has created a system where officers can relentlessly violate the law” in one of the poorest counties in America, according to the Justice Department. Investigators found police also sexually harassed women and kept people behind bars for minor offenses because they couldn’t afford to pay fines.

“Today’s findings show that the Lexington Police Department abandoned its sacred position of trust in the community by routinely violating the constitutional rights of those it was sworn to protect,” Attorney General Merrick Garland said.
